Zara Has Totally Outdone Itself With Its Latest Shoe Collection

For me, going into a Zara store is akin to the sheer joy experienced by a child entering a sweet shop. My adrenaline spikes and my heart races as I rush around the displays in search of something, anything, that sends my heart aflutter. Often, though, you’ll find my eyes remain cast down, frantically scanning the black gloss pedestals, because this is where Zara’s best item is kept: its shoes. And every single pair this season is a thing of beauty.

It never fails to amaze me just how great Zara’s shoes are. The pairs I already own are easily my most complimented footwear. (Not to mention the fact they’re significantly more affordable than most shoes of their design calibre.)

These blue lace-up boots were a fashion editor favourite at Zara’s autumn/winter 2019 press preview.

In true Zara form, the high-street stalwart has been serving up some of the season’s biggest shoe trends ahead of schedule, making for an easy way to inject a bit of autumn/winter 2019 chic into our (for the lack of a better word) in-between wardrobes.

Among the trends Zara’s backing? Bright boots, mesh, slingbacks, metallic finishes and, of course, mules. To make finding the perfect pair easier, I’ve broken them down into neat and highly shoppable categories. Keep scrolling to check out the 24 styles I’ve handpicked for you.

MULES

That’s right—as far as Zara is concerned, mules are very much sticking around. Stand out in a colour-pop pair or take the muted approach in black or cream.

MESH

Bottega Veneta’s mesh shoes have sparked a major surge of high-street homages, but no one is doing the texture better than our friends at Zara. Boots, mules, courts, flats—take your pick.

BRIGHT BOOTS

Tan boots are all well and good, but this season Zara is hedging its bets on bright iterations. I reckon the blue pair will sell out first—you’ll have to be quick to beat me too it.

WHITE

White sandals were all the rage for summer, and thankfully, they’re sticking around for autumn. Use them to give a pair of jeans a refresh, or to offset the femininity of a floral midi dress.

SLINGBACKS

Elegant and sleek, slingback heels make for the perfect addition to any workwear attire. However, in on-trend colours and interesting finishes, Zara has made them an after-dark essential, too.

GOLD

With the power to give any outfit a premium feel, it’s little wonder that Zara is heavily investing in metallic finishes ahead of, dare I say it, party season.
