29 Winter Finds You Have to See If Your Shopping Motto Is "Fewer But Better"
Welcome to my dream wardrobe. Earlier this year, I made the executive decision that 2023 was going to be the year that I stop making impulsive purchases and actually save up for the worthwhile wardrobe investments that will outlast trends and outsmart seasons. It's definitely easier said than done, but this year, I've set out to make my closet stronger and much longer lasting. I'm starting to feel sick of constantly having to purge my closet just to stay up to date for the season, and now I'm more interested than ever before in building a wardrobe that's timeless and trend-agnostic and, most importantly, feels like me.
I know I'm not the only one feeling this way, either. We're reaching a point in fashion where many of us are experiencing trend fatigue, and while I personally don't foresee trends ever ceasing to exist, I think the answer to this exhaustion is twofold: narrowing in on a personal style that isn't so easily swayed by fleeting trends and being a pickier shopper—a much pickier shopper.
With this "fewer but better" mindset, here are 29 of the best investment buys for winter 2023 so far. They're cool, they're classic, and they're made to last.
Fold-over off-the-shoulder tops are one of winter's most elegant items.
If there's one investment I can recommend above all the others, it's a great-quality belt to wear with jeans, skirts, and dresses, and even over coats. To me, it doesn't get any chicer than Saint Laurent's.
A black blazer that's lasted this long is one you can guarantee won't go out of style.
Not all It bags are made equally, but the Andiamo is the workhorse of 2023's designer handbags with its roomy interior, versatile straps, and beautiful woven construction.
As soon as I saw Elsa Hosk post this on her Instagram Stories, I knew it was destined for my cart.
A very small price to pay for a must-have winter staple. Style them with point-toe pumps for a fashion-forward spin.
I've been on a yearslong search for the best black pumps, and it just might end here.
The only holiday purchase you need to make is a pretty (and versatile) dress.
If they're good enough for Taylor Swift, they're good enough for me.
No need to buy a new black turtleneck each winter when you own this perfect, long-lasting one.
I've noticed how fashion girls are starting to opt for blue button-downs instead of white ones, and I'm inclined to do the same.
Trust me, you'll reach for knee boots with a low, walkable heel like these so often their cost per wear will become nonexistent.
If I were to invest in any designer bag right now, Toteme's T Lock has the best value for cost, in my opinion.
Red may be trendy right now, but a classic scarlet sweater is something you'll actually own and wear for years.
PSA: These popular flats are back in stock in multiple colors on Nordstrom. For now.
Everyone and their mother needs a beautiful silk tank in their closets, and that's a fact.
This reminds me of the pinstripe blazers in Saint Laurent's perfect fall 2023 collection.
Layering tops are key for winter dressing. Why not upgrade yours to a sophisticated boat neck?
