This Hyper-Specific Trend Couldn't Be More Perfect for Winter
It's felt like we've been on the cusp of fully embracing shearling motifs for years now, and then I woke up one morning recently and every accessory for winter was covered in shearling or faux fur. It's a cozy winter-wonderland vibe I'm completely here for. As an LA girl, I'm especially loving the fuzzy sandals and purses because—let's be honest here—this climate is never going to allow me to embrace this trend from head to toe. I know these accessories are going to look especially amazing with leather pants and blazers and maybe even some plaid miniskirts and chunky silver necklaces, too. Don't mind me—I'm just daydreaming here. Won't you join me? My favorite fuzzy pieces are just a scroll away.
Okay, Staud took the assignment and really ran with it. I'm giving these mules an A-plus.
Probably the most subtle way to dive into this micro-trend, if you're feeling hesitant.
I can't explain why, but it just makes sense that bucket hats have evolved into this.
Brown faux fur is undeniably cute. Plus, people may think you're holding a toy doodle.
I'm seeing these paired with leather leggings and an iced coffee in hand.
I couldn't leave this roundup without a classic black pair of Birkenstock shearling slides.
Aralyn Beaumont joined Who What Wear as the copy editor for branded content after a career in food media. Years of poring over intricate recipes with a fine-tooth comb and working with high-profile chefs has prepared her well for working with fashion's top brands while honoring Who What Wear's voice. Her background as a research editor makes her a finicky editor who will probably care too much about making sure all copy is as factually accurate and aligned with the house style guide as can be. Maybe it's because she's a Gemini, but her personal style is impossible to pin down: One day you'll see her in a turtleneck sweater tucked into a midi skirt with heeled boots, and the next, she'll be wearing mom jeans, a white Hanes tee, and classic Vans. At the end of the day, her style reflects her various moods. Sometimes it will be feminine and elegant, and others it will be grungy or androgynous. Certain things will always remain constant, though. She'll forever be on the hunt for the perfect pair of high-waisted jeans.
