The Controversial Swim Trend I'm So Into Right Now
If I were to write a short list of clothing items that scare me, somewhere after super-tight dresses and before uncomfortable shoes and white jeans, you'd find white bathing suits. I don't particularly love wearing bathing suits in the first place (but buy them anyway), so if you take a category that already makes me uncomfortable and choose a white, nowhere-to-hide iteration, I'm downright petrified. Nonetheless, you can imagine my confusion when I suddenly noticed how many of my favorite swimsuits are actually white. Maybe seeing so many of them helped, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't end up ordering a couple while researching swimwear trend stories.
Will I end up channeling my inner Sofia Richie Grainge this summer? Only time will tell, but for now, I figured I'd make the case for buying the trend for the upcoming season. Ahead, you'll find all the best white swimsuits at every price point plus examples of how some of my other favorite stylish women are pulling off white swimwear. From bikinis to one-pieces, these white suits are sure to sell you on the trend, as they did for me.
If you want to get Richie Grainge's exact look, this suit is the place to start.
This take on cutouts that we have been calling "negative space" is so on-trend.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
