6 Spring Trends Everyone Will Be Wearing Instead of Jeans
Listen: Nobody loves jeans more than this girl right here, but I can’t help it if, this spring, there just so happen to be a handful worthy trends poised to rival our beloved denim pants. Whether they were stars on the runways, born from street style, or both, sometimes the sartorial evidence is simply too appealing to deny, and such is definitely the case with the looks you're about to see below.
So while I’m not saying to abandon your favorite jeans completely, simply prepare to face the fact that you might be getting a bit less use out of them than usual in the spring months. From tailored trousers to denim skirts and even a legging comeback, the six upcoming trends are simply too good (and too big) to ignore. To see which made the cut, as well as outfit inspiration and my shopping picks for each one, just keep scrolling.
1. Denim Skirts
Not only were they big on the runways, but the street style set has been quick to embrace them, too.
2. Bermuda Shorts
Whether as part of a suit or on their own, Bermudas are bound to be the biggest shorts trend of the season.
3. Split-Hem Leggings
I saw leggings—specifically, styles with a slit in the front or on the side—on more street style stars than I could count over fashion month, which tells me they’re poised for a major comeback.
4. Knit Sets
When comfy, head-to-toe knit outfits are trending, even I wonder why I would bother with denim.
5. Tailored Trousers
The suiting craze is not going away anytime soon, which means more and more fashion girls are trading in their jeans for tailored trousers each day.
6. Leather Pants
Thought leather pants were just for fall and winter? Think again because they’re as relevant for spring as they are for the colder seasons.
Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
