4 Clothing Items That Would Make a Royal Cringe
Depending on your royal IQ, you're familiar with some or many of the things your favorite duchesses and princesses wear. You might have caught onto Kate Middleton's penchant for a specific pair of shoes and Meghan Markle's love for bateau necklines, for example. But what about the items royals don't wear?
If you pay attention, you'll notice that there are certain pieces that royals tend to steer clear of. For instance, celebrities with trend-driven style, like Gigi Hadid or Irina Shayk, often wear chunky "dad" sneakers, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a princess in the of-the-moment style. Instead, royals favor classic, timeless versions that will never go out of style—think crisp, classic white shoes. Scroll down to see the four items royals don't wear and what they gravitate toward instead.

Next up, see how Meghan Markle's mom, Doria, wore fall's number one trend.
Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
