During the '90s and early '00s, whether intentional or otherwise, the duo was often pictured mirroring each other's style sense. Sometimes, they'd even wear the same outfit. Sure, Britney and Justin had the denim ensemble going on, and Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow had the same haircut, but no other celebrity couple's style has been as consistent (or as dedicated) as the Beckhams.
Of course, these days, the couple's tastes have evolved. Victoria's eponymous label means she's always spotted in her own chic pieces, whereas David has grown into his personal style too, often wearing classic jeans, T-shirts and biker jackets. While I appreciate how their looks have changed, I decided to delve into the VB and DB archives and uncover some of their best style moments that we may have cruelly forgotten about. How time flies.

Style Notes: Ah, young love. This is a shot from when the couple announced their engagement in 1998. We're totally here for the matching black roll-necks.

Style Notes: At the 2003 MTV Movie Awards, the couple looked like they'd been living in L.A. their whole lives, even though they didn't move there until 2007. The matching white outfits are just incredible.

Style Notes: This is what we like to call true vintage Victoria and David Beckham twinning. Victoria in a risqué gown looking super tan, and David with an open shirt, jeans and the all-important rosary beads.
Style Notes: VB changing her hair colour and length was just as important and impactful as when she changed up her look. Here's she styled out a revamped take on the '60s mod, with DB looking equally retro in his double-breasted suit and cravat combo.
Style Notes: An off-the-shoulder grey top paired with black trousers for Victoria and a half-tuck white shirt for David (did he start the trend?). The beanie, however, was the start of every man in the western world wearing these hats even in the height of summer.
Style Notes: Back in 2001, Posh loved pairing a crop top with boot-cut trousers, and David enjoyed velvet trousers, apparently. He was also doing the whole oversized cuff thing before everyone else, so bonus fashion points there.
Style Notes: This is how VB does Jackie O style. While attending the ESPY awards in 2008, the designer opted for a pale yellow bodycon dress and oversized sunnies.
Style Notes: Proof that the couple doesn't have to adhere to the exact same dress codes as each other. David has an interesting pinstripe suit on, and Victoria's grey dress is great. Who knew those controversial latex boots would predict this year's "pantashoes" trend?
