Victoria Beckham Styled Her Puddle Pants in the Most Parisian Way
Victoria Beckham has had quite the weekend. During a trip to Paris that saw the debut of her S/S 24 Victoria Beckham collection as part of Paris Fashion Week, the designer made several appearances in the French capital whilst out with her family. The day after her highly anticipated runway show, Beckham emerged from her hotel in a black leather jacket with statement shoulder pads from her own label. Creating symmetry in her silhouette, she wore her jacket with floor-skimming black puddle pants—a trending trouser style for autumn/winter—for a dramatic yet balanced outfit.
On Victoria Beckham: Victoria Beckham Bonded Leather Biker Jacket (£1790), Victoria Beckham Layered Mask (£330) and Hermès Birkin bag.
Her monochrome look was accessorised with a black Hermès Birkin bag and black sunglasses, again from her own brand. Beckham took a leaf out the of the French-girl handbook and wore her hair down in loose waves for an undone, effortlessly chic finish that softened the feel of her black-on-black outfit. French women are known for their love of flared-trousers—I've spent years analysing French style and can conclude that '70s-inspired pieces feature heavily in many a Parisian's wardrobe—and this pair added further flair to Beckham's ensemble.
The designer went for a low-key approach to dressing during fashion week, favouring luxe materials and high-quality design over trend-led items. Instead, she demonstrated her fashion prowess with a bold silhouette that managed not to look overdressed in the city with a famously less-is-more approach to style.
Off the back of previewing her S/S 24 Victoria Beckham collection, which featured wearable knits with dramatic collars, oversized clutch bags, sleeveless coats and expertly styled layers, Beckham's personal style proved to be an extension of the decidedly chic line-up she showcased over the weekend.
