This Major 2016 Trend Isn't Going Anywhere
Made famous by none of than the groundbreakingly directional brand Vetements, one of the most distinctive looks in fashion this year is extra-long sleeves. Well, it may come as a surprise, but a brand more known for its romantic gowns than streetwear-inspired trends is among the latest to endorse it. Yesterday, Vera Wang debuted her S/S 17 designs at New York Fashion Week, and nearly every look that came down the runway featured extra-long sleeves. The entirely black-and-white collection was devoid of ball gowns and instead closed with maxi dresses that would be more appropriate on a street style star with a pair of sneakers. That said, Vera Wang’s take on the streetwear-inspired trend was decidedly more feminine than the oversize hoodies at Vetements. The fabrics were soft and airy, and many looks were off the shoulder.
