While some of the year's biggest social events are now tentatively going ahead, it's fair to say that they won't quite be the same. Masks will be worn, social distancing measures put in place and air kissing swapped out for elbow bumps. However, there is one thing that remains the same and that's beautiful outfits. This week Cate Blanchett has become the ultimate embodiment of this, making her entrance at the Venice Film Festival in what can only be described as the ultimate cool-girl, tailored get-up.
Cate has got the balance just right: she looks pulled together yet not ostentatious, trend-led yet not clad in designer It-buys. With a pair of white tailored trousers styled with a classic white shirt, black roll neck and navy blazer, it has definite nautical vibes (well, she is standing on a pier, after all) and is ideal for this tricky in-between season period.
