The Game of Thrones finale is upon us and I, for one, am in full denial. Fans of the show, worry not—there are no spoilers here. In fact, I'm on a self-imposed social media ban all day and will be practically sprinting home at 6 p.m. to watch the last episode this evening. Come tomorrow, I'm not sure how I'll feel knowing there's no weekly fix of dragons, furry capes and Daenerys death stares, but luckily, I have my latest makeup obsession to help ease the pain. Yes, while we might all on the same page about characters that can rise from the dead, walk through flames and keep dragons as pets, there's still something about my new makeup discovery that makes me feel a bit geeky. But I have to tell you, it's love. And it comes in the form of an Urban Decay Game of Thrones eye shadow palette.
After beauty insider whisperings that Game of Thrones cast members Maisie Williams and Nathalie Emmanuel both wore the palette for the final season premiere in New York, I knew I had to get my hands on it (both of the actresses looked so good). I have to say that I wasn't disappointed.
First up, let's talk about that packaging. Yes, that is a pop-up iron throne in the centre of the palette. Yes, there is a passionate quote from Daenerys Targaryen emblazoned inside the box. Yes, the eye shadows are all named after things from Westeros, like Winterfell, Lannister Red and White Walker. (I die.) But novelties and screaming inner fangirl aside, this is genuinely a bloody-good eye shadow palette. Featuring 20 eye shadows in a mix of mattes, neutrals metallics and shimmer shades, you can wear these colours solo for a cool, easy wash of colour or mixed and matched for a customised smoky eye. So far, my favourite shades are House Lannister (a peach matte), Red Keep (a warm metallic copper), Nymeria (a rich terracotta) and Winterfell (an antique gold).
For Maisie's Game of Thrones premiere look, makeup artist Kindra Mann used the White Walkers section of the eye-shadow palette. A representative for Urban Decay gave me the lowdown on how to re-create the look: "Brush on Take the Black [a jet black with a micro shimmer] over eyeliner to punch up and smoke out the colour, creating a diffused smoky cat eye. Swipe the shade Hardhome [a sparkling white] over the brow bone and in the crease of the eye for dimension."

Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan also used the palette for Nathalie Emmanuel's premiere look. "For the eyes, I used the Winterfell section of the Urban Decay Game of Thrones Eye Shadow Palette," explained Deenihan. "I worked Weirwood Leaves [a deep plum] all over the lid. I then buffed Nymeria [a warm terracotta] to the outer corners of the eyelids to add subtle dimension to the shadow and smudged it on the bottom lash line." And there was another secret weapon in both actresses beauty looks courtesy of the Urban Decay Game of Thrones collection: the Mother of Dragons Highlighter Palette.
Containing three intense highlighter shades named after each of Daenerys's dragons (I am dead serious), this palette offers up some major glow. Inside you've got Drogon (a frosted pink), Viserion (a metallic golden nude) and Rhaegal (a metallic bronze), which can be worn on cheekbones to add instant luminosity or layered up for a customised shade.
Deenihan "kept Nathalie's cheeks glowy, natural and dimensional" with the shade Rhaegal, while Mann used both the shades Rhaegal and Drogon on Maisie's cheekbones and nose for a "glamorous, glowy look."

I'm totally besotted with Sophie Turner's smoky eye–and–nude lip pairing for her Game of Thrones premiere beauty look.
While I can't find anything to back this up, Lena Headey's purple eye shadow looks suspiciously like the shade Stormborn from the GOT palette. It's from the House of Targaryen section, though, so Cersei wouldn't be best pleased.
Gwendoline Christie looks like a real-life princess with her soft waves, peachy-pink lips and icy inner-corner highlight.
