27 Interior Pieces You Won't See on Everyone Else's Instagram
I am currently in the process of moving house and have, of course, fallen down a deep dark Pinterest hole. Like Narnia, time seems to take on a different quality in these digitalised worlds, and I can slip into the app and, in the blink of an eye, surface five hours later feeling disorientated and nursing an RSI injury. My one and only issue with the magical world of online interiors inspo is that there is an ever-present risk that your home will end up looking like a physical manifestation of a Pinterest algorithm, and by that I mean like every other millennial's that year.
While there isn't anything inherently wrong with moving with the crowd, there can be no greater satisfaction to be found in taking the interiors road less travelled. My (not very groundbreaking) solution? Buying from lesser-known and vintage brands. As anyone who has decorated a house will know, it is possible to spend infinite amounts of money on artsy, one-of-a-kind pieces, but websites such as Etsy, Vinterior and Instagram have offered the average consumer a chance to discover and support independent brands from the comfort of their homes.
There are far too many amazing brands to mention in one story, but I've put my obsessive scrolling to good use and compiled an edit of stylish interior buys from lesser-known or vintage brands. I've even organised by price point so there's something for every budget. Scroll down to see and shop my edit.
