10 Low-Key Spring Outfits I'll Live in for the Next Few Months
Spring's fashion trends have been beckoning us since last September when the fashion week spring/summer presentations were flooded with impeccably tailored trousers, sky blue colour palettes and a sprinkling of '90s grunge. We are more than excited about the stylish but low-key spring outfits coming into view and have begun lining up looks for our own wardrobes.
Despite the unpredictable weather early in the season, we're determined to add spring touches to our outfits—even if that means just including a few bright colours here and there. This year, everything is on the table from denim skirts to floral dresses and tailored trousers to straight-cut jeans. We're particularly infatuated with easy-to-wear dresses (especially the knitted variety) and colourful knits popping out of trench coats. Maxi anything has also risen to the top of our shopping lists.
So if you're looking for some new styling ideas to freshen up your looks for this year, keep scrolling for our guide on what to wear this spring, plus a shopping list to achieve each look. Since most of these combinations revolve around one to three pieces, you'll also be able to re-create several of these spring outfits with little effort on your part.
1. Striped Shirt & Jeans
Style Notes: Where better to start than with staples we stand by all year round? Through spring, many of our outfits will inevitably revolve around a great pair of jeans, so this striped-shirt-and-jeans pairing is not only easy, but seriously chic. Add trainers for a relaxed feel, or opt for mules for a polished dinner look.

Every great wardrobe has a perfect pair of jeans.
The ideal minimal white trainer for any low-key spring outfit.
2. Bomber Jacket & Pleated Skirt
Style Notes: Bomber jackets have made a forceful return in recent months. Because we can't rely on British weather, this look will be called upon for those fresher days. The maxi pleated skirt in a neutral hue adds to the overall impact of the entire 'fit.
Shop the Look:
Cream-coloured boots give this winter shoe the spring upgrade it needs.
3. White T-shirt & Maxi Skirt
Style Notes: There are plenty of easy spring looks that start with a simple white T-shirt. Right now, combine it with an on-trend maxi denim skirt and cropped jacket, if the weather calls for it.
Shop the Look:
Made of cotton fabric, this jacket is breathable but a good defense against chillier days.
4. Biker Jacket & Wide-Leg Trousers
Style Notes: The humble biker jacket features in all great wardrobes. From grounding feminine dresses to adding edge to tailored trousers, there are plenty of spring styling options with this jacket.
Shop the Look:
The relaxed fit is perfect for throwing over any outfit.
Mesh is trending and kitten heels are classic — a winning combo.
5. A Throw-On Dress
Style Notes: For me, spring is all about ease. I love a relaxed silhouette or the simplicity of getting dressed in an easy-to-throw-on item. A simple knit dress is the best of both. Plus, you can swap out loafers for heels depending on the occasion.
Shop the Look:
The ivory colour makes this knit dress feel light enough for spring.
6. Trench Coat, Colourful Knit & Jeans
Style Notes: The trench coat has become an icon of spring, thanks to its lightweight nature and waterproof design that protects from spring showers. This season, we're throwing ours over a colourful knit to reflect the brighter days, and finishing with light-wash jeans.
Shop the Look:
You'll never get tired of having this at the ready in your closet.
7. Sunny Day Dress & Denim Jacket
Styles Notes: With the first glints of sunshine shining through, we've retrieved our sunny-day dresses to help manifest the weather we're dreaming of. Whilst we wait for the blazing sunshine, a light denim jacket is the perfect finishing touch.
Shop the Look:
Another gorgeous dress option in this season's popular sky blue colour.
8. Denim on Denim
Style Notes: Denim styles are a staple for any wardrobe, be it a great pair of jeans, a skirt or a light denim jacket. But the most impactful pairing for spring is a simple combination of two pieces. The best blend also involves the same shades of denim.
Shop the Look:
This collarless cut is a unique twist on the classic denim jacket.
Consider a flared maxi skirt as an alternative to jeans for a fresh look.
9. Striped Knit, Jeans & Loafers
Style Notes: Striped knits will never lose their charm. For the in-between days when you're piling on and taking off layers, they're the perfect piece. Wear it normally or drape then knot it around your shoulders for another classic look.
Shop the Look:
This particular jumper has come back year after year, proving its timeless quality.
10. Lightweight Co-Ords
Style Notes: There's plenty to appreciate about a cool co-ord. Firstly, the instant pairing takes the stress away from creating an outfit, and secondly, they always look put-together, no matter what.
Shop the Look:
Another fun take on the light blue colour palette that's so big this spring.
I have these ultra comfortable (but very slick) trousers in black and am now buying them in sky blue.
