I Love a Good Blazer—Here Are 10 Ways to Wear The Staple This Spring
Gone are the days when the only time you'd dust off your blazer was for a stuffy job interview. Today, blazers are an integral part of our wardrobes, bestowing polish on everything we wear with them—be it a floral dress, a miniskirt or a pair of jeans.
With the power to make you feel stylish and put-together as soon as you slip one on, blazers unsurprisingly trend year-round. Though, in my opinion, their appeal really peaks in spring. As we start to shed our winter wear, blazers become the perfect tran-seasonal cover-up, and make anything you decide to wear with them look more polished in the process.
Many of the best blazers out there have oversize silhouettes (or can be bought a size up without sacrificing the overall aesthetic), meaning they can be layered over jumpers until temperatures rise. When the weather does warm up, they look sophisticated paired with even the most basic T-shirt and trousers. Case in point: the following looks.
I've found 10 incredible spring blazer outfits to try this season. Scroll below to see them and to shop the key pieces to re-create the outfits for yourself.
1. DRESS DOWN WITH DENIM
Style Notes: Aimee Song is a master of high/low dressing, often pairing tailoring with casual wear, and dresses with knits to top-to-toe perfection. We think this oversized blazer and denim ensemble is her best interpretation of the look.

If you're going to wear denim on denim, shop the same wash from the same brand for cohesion.
Charles & Keith are our go-to for premium looking accessories at high street prices.
2. ADD A CONTRASTING BELT
Style Notes: Don't feel restricted by the silhouette of your blazer. As Lydia proves, the boxy jacket looks just as great with a belt worn over the top.

I think khaki blazers may have surpassed black in the chic factor.
A belt like this makes even the most simple outfit feel considered.
Up the cool factor of a structured blazer with a pair of cycling shorts.
3. KEEP IT FRESH
Style Notes: As Loïcka Grâce attests, a white blazer will help breathe new life into your darker wardrobe staples or your trusty denim.
SHOP THE LOOK
Rather than wearing head-to-toe white, keep it graphic by pairing with black bottoms.
We're still obsessed with leggings, and this is a smart new way to wear them.
4. DRESS IT UP
Style Notes: Wearing a blazer over a floral dress might not seem like a natural pairing, but if it looks half as chic on us as it does on Marissa, we think it's worth trying.
SHOP THE LOOK
We love this blazer with a spring dress but it's just as good with the co-ordinating wide leg trousers.
Saint Laurent bags are having a moment–if Angelina Jolie thinks so, we're inclined to agree.
So long high heels, fashion girls are all about kitten heel slingbacks right now.
5. KEEP IT IN CHECK
Style Notes: Checked blazers always make a comeback in the winter months but run the risk of feeling too dark come spring. Make like Jen and give them an instant lift with pastel trousers or acid washed denim.

Don't fancy light brown check? This also comes in dark brown, black bouclé, cream and camel.
The runways have spoken, the spring summer is all about the slouchy wide leg.
Tired of teetering on skyscraper heels? Consider these the solution.
6. OFFSET FANCY PIECES
Style Notes: Satin skirts may feel like after-dark fodder, but with an oversize blazer, they create the ultimate high-low combination.

A Who What Wear favourite for very good reason.
Whether you wear it with a turtleneck knit, slinky camisole, or a tailored blazer, the result is always undeniably chic.
7. INVEST IN A SUIT
Style Notes: While not all blazers will come with matching trousers, if they do, we always recommend considering the set as another foolproof and effortless outfit option.

Mix and match H&M's matching orange separates by pairing a double or single breasted jacket with a tapered or wide leg option.

8. CONSIDER MINI HEMLINES
Style Notes: Fashion people love wearing blazers with minidresses underneath—there’s just something effortless about this look that’s so appealing. Finish with chunky sandals for a casual spin.
SHOP THE LOOK
A Chanel bag is always a wise investment, and you can find exceptional quality in pre-owned options.
You'll wear a pair of comfy sandals like these for years to come.
9. LAYER OVER A BRA TOP
Style Notes: Leather blazers still work in spring. As temperatures continue to rise, why not swap out your long-sleeve tops and tees and instead pair your blazer with a bra top?
SHOP THE LOOK
Update a classic blazer with a polished leather version that beats a biker jacket.
We love Skims dresses, and the underwear comes just as highly rated.
This deceptively roomy micro-crossbody is big enough for your essentials, without weighing you down.
10. TWEED IS BACK
Style Notes: This season, tweed and bouclé blazers are back on the style agenda, though the styling of them has changed somewhat. Although they look the polished part paired with dresses and skirts, take cues from Jen and wear yours with jeans, a trending chain belt and a basic jersey top.

A good cotton tank top will be the foundation of hundreds of different outfits in spring and summer.
