8 Summer Outfits to Throw On When You Just Can't Think
Do you ever have those mornings when you just can’t think? If, like me, you’re not much of a morning person, then that might be the majority of them. Aside from making it easier to forget something at home or skip a part of my makeup routine, it also tends to make it a lot harder to put together an outfit—especially if I haven’t had my coffee yet.
In order to combat this, I like to keep a mental registry of quick and simple looks I know will always work for me, made up of easy basics I already have hanging in my closet. For the summer months ahead, I’ve already found eight such looks I’ll be screenshotting and then committing to memory, all of which I have a feeling you’ll like too. To see what they are and, of course, shop them in case you’re missing any of the essentials, just keep scrolling.
1. Tee + Denim Shorts + Flats
Bonus points for a fun belt and timeless basket bag, but honestly, this outfit would be chic regardless of the extra accessories.
Shop the Look:
2. Muscle Tank + White Jeans + Sneakers
The muscle tank is the latest trend to make it to essential status, and it's only getting more useful as the weather heats up.
Shop the Look:
3. Printed Dress + Flat Sandals
Got a printed dress? Good. Got flat sandals? Even better. You can never go wrong when pairing the two together.
Shop the Look:
4. Tube Top + Jeans + Mules
Tube tops are indeed back, and there's no better time than just before summer to invest in one.
Shop the Look:
5. Button-Down + Shorts + Sandals
Flowy, boxer-style shorts will be your best friend this season. My favourite way to wear them currently is with an oversized button-down layered on top.
Shop the Look:
6. Slip Dress + Strappy Sandals
It's also a dream holiday look that works perfectly from day to night.
Shop the Look:
7. Oversized Tee + Printed Trousers + Sandals
You can even grab your best sleep tee and prettiest pyjama pants to make this one work and just add strappy black sandals.
Shop the Look:
Anytime you're looking for fun prints, La Double J should be your first port of call.
8. White Top + Jeans
Shoes are definitely optional, but there's no wrong choice when you're pairing them with such a classic combo as a white top and jeans.

Next up, the biggest autumn 2023 fashion trends to know.
This post was published at an earlier date and has since been updated.
Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
