5 New Jeans Styles I'm Buying in 2019—and One I'm Retiring
New denim trends that pass the longevity test just don’t come along that often. Skinny jeans have been huge for a long time (we’re still hanging on to ours, over a decade later) and high-waisted straight legs are always chic with a white T-shirt. Then there are the cropped flare jeans that became popular a couple of years ago, which we loved wearing with ankle boots and sandals alike. However, at the end of 2018, Who What Wear's commerce strategist confirmed that "units sold of cropped flare jeans decreased by 55% compared to last year." While you shouldn’t get rid of them completely (they are by no means out of fashion, just having a quieter moment), there are five jeans silhouettes that you may want to add to your denim wardrobe to sit alongside your favourites, new and old.
Although these jeans trends aren’t exactly brand new, they are gaining popularity in 2019. We know this because we’ve seen them on plenty of our favourite stylish Instagrammers. This is great news as not only does it give us an excuse to wear jeans all the time, it also means we’ve found some truly great new outfit ideas to copy. From wide-leg silhouettes that look incredible with a boxy shirt to the resurgence of baggy "dad” jeans, as well as the latest denim shorts style we weren’t expecting to love, keep scrolling for the five new jeans to wear and shop our picks.
