These 9 Items Are the Definition of Luxury for Spring 2025

Florrie Alexander
At the beginning of a season, it's easy to get carried away with new-in high street purchases and refreshing our plain basics. For me, though, I seem to automatically switch gear into luxury shopping stealth mode. That's not to say I go splashing the cash on the latest It buys; I just try to take a pause at this point in the year to really think about what I want my hard-earned money to go on. Otherwise, before I know it, I will have spent more than I'd like to across the high street without really making any smart, long-term purchases.
These days, it's more important than ever to evaluate the long-term value and use of anything you're going to slap some cash down for—whether it's £35 or £3.5K. This is certainly a moment when it doesn't pay to buy endless amounts of trend-hitting items that provide only one season's wear, or to impulse-snag something cheaply just because you "don't have anything to wear" on a Friday night. We're all guilty of staring into our packed-out closets like they're an empty abyss, but there's probably always something you can re-style in one way or another—I guarantee it.
The one thing that I do find elevates all my existing outfits is the addition of a beautiful investment piece that I can cherish. One that I truly enjoy pulling out season after season. So, if your collection is missing a classic designer item or two as we move through 2025, this is where my luxury shopping edit will come in. I've compiled an edit of items that are defining the world of luxury for spring 2025 for you to choose from. Nothing here is a fad; instead, you'll find a honed list of evergreen items that will add a serious touch of luxury to your life for many years to come. From the ultimate handbags, to top-quality tailoring and and the jewellery pieces fashion people are all dreaming about right now.
This list is luxury at it's finest, and even just one of these items woven into your everyday jeans and T-shirt outfits will transform your look into something that feels incredibly elevated and polished. So, keep scrolling to see this month's most special items that scream peak luxury...

Alaïa's Le Teckel is the bag of choice for fashion people this season. The elongated east-west design feels fresh and new, but the simplicity of the design means it will remain a cherished classic for years to come. This rich brown suede version is my personal favourite, sure to complement everything from black tailoring to blue jeans.
Anthony Vaccarello's SS25 collection for Saint Laurent was, for many, the absolute highlight of the season. It was dominated by masculine suiting complete with ties that would have Patrick Bateman salivating, but it was the leather bomber jackets thrown over the top that were the talk of the town (and set the wheels in motion for leather bombers to be a key trend of the season). Now the jackets are available to buy, and while they're certainly a big investment, a style like this is sure to become an iconic archival piece.
Chemena Kamali's shake up at the helm of Chloé has put the label back at the top of fashion's most wanted list. Like many, I'm in awe of the romantic ruffled dresses sent down the runway, but the easiest way to become a Chloé girl for SS25 is to add these aviator's to your look. Expect to see this style and many copycats all over Europe this summer.
Savette has long been a luxury bag brand we here at Who What Wear have recommended for its excellent investment credentials. The brand oozes quality and timelessness, and their understated top-handle Symmetry bag is an "in the know" status symbol. The shoulder bag version has been a previous best-seller, but this new Pochette style, an elegant east-west design (spot the trend), has already been spotted all over this fashion month's street style set.
For a beautifully elevated take on the barn jacket trend (that shows no signs of going anywhere), head to Toteme.
Looking for a polished shoe that's not a flat and not a painfully high heel? Khaite's Mia pumps are a lesson in elegance, and will add the perfect finish to jeans, skirts, tailoring and dresses.
Alexa Chung continues her collaboration with Barbour this season with a capsule full of practical yet stylish buys that have the fashion icon's stamp of approval. As a true London girl, Alexa herself certainly knows a thing or two about the perfect trench coat, and with this design she might just have nailed it.
Some might say it's madness to pay over £500 for a pair of flip-flops, but there's no doubt in my mind that these will be the It sandal of summer 2025 from The Row. The street style set have already marked a simple thong slip-on as the shape to be seen in, wearing them with full length jeans and even smart tailoring before spring has even hit. Honestly, it's a miracle this pair are still in stock and I'm sure by the time sunny days are here they'll be impossible to get your hands on.
Everyone I know with excellent taste has been eyeing up an updated blazer this season. Nipped in waists and elegant collarless necklines are the key features to look out for, which is why this Tove style is set to be the one every fashion person adds to their cart.

I've seen a number of fashion people carrying this bag and it instantly makes their entire outfit look chic.
Sunglasses are either very large (see the aviators in the list above), or very small this season. Oval shapes with metal frames reign supreme in the latter category, and this Dior pair are, in my opinion, the perfect style. They hit the trend while also still feeling classic with the simple gold frame, meaning they'll last way beyond just this one season.
Waisted button-down cardigans are a key trend for SS25, and, of course, Khaite's version—an update on its iconic pocket-front style—is absolutely stunning. Layer it up or simply wear alone over a pair of slouchy black trousers, full skirt or loose jeans for an outfit that feels very now.
Not technically a luxury buy, but a pair of fresh, understated trainers is key to a polished, luxurious look. This is my pick for 2025.
Hailey Bieber has recently been spotted wearing the barn jacket trend with bare legs and knee high biker boots, and my trend-spotting senses were peaked. A big jacket + shorts or mini dress/skirt and a chunky knee boot is definitely a cool-girl outfit you can expect to see a lot more of in the coming transitional months, and this pair are the ultimate boot to style up the look. They'll come into their own next autumn as well.
My top tip for making any outfit look expensive? A crisp white shirt. This is the one I always recommend to friends.
For that "Old Money Summer in Nantucket" kind of luxury, Dôen's new drop has a wealth of options, including this heavenly lemon yellow spring knit.
One for the minimalists out there, sculptural gold bangles are making a comeback. Slip this one over your wrist and use it to keep your shirt or thin knit sleeves rolled up for an elegant styling trick.
This bag may not look new, but Loewe's puzzle has been reinvented for SS25 in a new featherlight leather that gives a gorgeous slouch to it, making it feel wholly modern and sending it straight back to the top of my dream bag wish list.
Nothing shouts luxury to me more than a cream knit, and a polo collar adds a fresh twist to this light spring-ready version.
Gold hoops are still the easiest way to add class to any outfit, especially a pair of Saint Laurent ones.
If you buy one pair of jeans this season, make it these. The barrel leg shape is just so cool.
The dress I'll be recommending for summer weddings and events this year.
The Row's park tote remains an absolute luxury winner. The large version fits everything you need and more (including a laptop).
COS makes luxury accessible to us all with these beautifully slouchy tailored trousers.
Khaite's sellout Benny belt is back in stock in a very 2025-feeling brown suede. A simple solution to making any and all outfits look expensive.
A beautiful accompaniment to any outfit, from day to night.
