Yes, Zara Is Doing a Boxing Day Sale: Here's What We Know So Far (and What We're Buying)
Zara is known for having three major sales: one in the summer months, one that kickstarts around Black Friday and the other is on Boxing Day. Naturally, given the month we find ourselves in, we’re here to talk about the latter. Zara's Boxing Day sale is always one of the most anticipated, and there are a few rules you need to know and things we can predict.
Here's everything I know about it having covered Zara's Boxing Day sale for almost 15 years.
When is the Next Zara Sale?
Zara's next sale is currently live, having launched on Thursday 26 December 2024.
Does Zara Always Have a Boxing Day 2024 Sale?
Zara has had a Boxing Day sale every year for as long as I've been a fashion editor—that's over 14 years! This year is no different, as Zara's Boxing Day Sale started at 9pm on Christmas Eve on the Zara app. It is still going right now.
How to Shop Zara's Sale
Regardless of the brand or discounts, we always advise caution when it comes to shopping during markdowns, so you'll find a few tips and tricks for shopping the Zara sale below.
Firstly, have a look through your wardrobe and have a think about what you need and what works with your current pieces. Then, when browsing on the site, add pieces you love. But before you check out, it's worth thinking about how much wear you'll get out of them. A good rule is to know if you'll wear it 30 times or more, which is a great way to ensure you're shopping as mindfully and sustainably as you can.
What Will Zara's Boxing Day Discount Be?
Last year, Zara offered up to 40% off selected products for Boxing Day, and in 2024, the deals are the same with up to 40% off some perfect capsule buys.
How Long Does Zara's Boxing Day Sale Last for?
Zara tends to change the length of its Boxing Day sale each year, which doesn't help when it comes to predicting what the brand will do in 2024. However, I will say this—the best Zara Boxing Day deals get snapped up fast, so even if the sale lasts until January, chances are you'll have missed out on the pieces you want if you don't act quick.

How an Expert Recommends Shopping Zara's Sale
Our experience has told us that you should go for the things that'll be the most popular first. So opt for the higher-priced goods that will sell out quickly (e.g., cashmere, handbags, shoes, and coats). "Other pieces like shirts are likely to still be around for the second markdowns," also suggests our insider. Remember to research trends before buying for the upcoming season so you can see what will last.

"Customers will always ask, 'Will you be getting more stuff like this?' Honestly, the staff will have no idea what the rest of the season will look like," our Zara source tells us. "Yes, there are key trends, but since Zara designs, creates, and produces items and has them distributed within just a few weeks, there is no way you can predict what's coming in. Managers will only know what's coming in when they do the order for next week's stock." The message here? Don't rely on something going into the sale.
My own personal tip? Create a wish list on the Zara app and head straight to that on the day to see if the pieces you love have been discounted. The app is free to download. If you would rather, you can also jot down the codes for each item and search them manually in the Zara search bar on the day.
