7 Winter Outfits From H&M That Will Make You Look Like You Hired a Stylist
Winter can be really hard to dress for. Your first priority is usually warmth, and for me, comfort comes in a close second, with style after that. Add in some dark, uninspiring mornings, and my go-to outfits can easily just become a combination of the cosiest items I lay my hands on when I first open my wardrobe. I presume I'm not alone in this winter outfit rut, so after recently browsing through H&M's impressive new-in section, I thought it might be helpful to assemble some ready-made, affordable (but still chic) H&M winter outfits to inspire us all.
Whether you've got festive events on your mind, cold-weather workwear woes or if your cosy weekend-wear is feeling like it needs a refresh, the seven outfit formulas below should have you covered. As always when shopping H&M, I've focused on the most classic styles that you'll be able to add to your regular rotation with ease. A lot of the pieces also come from the Premium Selection, which, although sometimes a little pricier, is my expert hack for finding the most expensive-looking buys from the retailer that will last you way more than just a few wears.
As we know with H&M, the good stuff goes very quickly. So keep scrolling to see and shop these seven key winter outfits. And you can thank me later.
1. Everyday Ease
Style Notes: A fail-safe formula for winter days is throwing together your favourite knit, coat, jeans and boots. When the temperature drops, all I want to be is cosy, but I can easily start to feel lazy recycling my tracksuit for the third time that week. This is the perfect alternative, with small tweaks like a pair of comfy, loose jeans and a pair of boots instead of trainers. The chic camel coat and the minimalistic bag ensure a comfy outfit still looks pulled together.

Add a touch of luxury to the everyday with this cashmere-blend knit.
2. Day-to-Night Dress
Style Notes: The best thing about wearing a dress (apart from that it's an all-in-one outfit that requires little styling on busy mornings), is that most of the time, they work really well to take you from day to night. The run-up to the festive period seems to be when our diaries get the fullest, so throwing on this chic dress with some heeled boots and a smart coat will see you through the work day and onto a dressy dinner in the evening—all whilst looking flawlessly polished.

3. Shades of Grey
Style Notes: If in doubt, choose to wear one colour top to toe for an outfit that will always look thought-out, polished and incredibly chic. This is one of my top tips for looking expensive whilst still shopping the high street. This works with most colours, especially winter neutrals like beige, cream, burgundy or black, but grey is the colour that we saw layered up the most on the A/W 24 catwalks. This tonal trick is perfect for making your day-to-day workwear look intentional and professionally styled—just match your tailored trousers to your roll neck, et voilà!

4. Luxury Leggings
Style Notes: Wearing your favourite pair of leggings in winter doesn't have to mean feeling like you're being lazy or dressing too casually. Black leggings can look really refined when paired with an elevated knit, smart coat and knee-high boots, and don't worry—the comfort factor remains.

5. Smart Casual
Style Notes: A smart-casual outfit like this is appropriate for so many different occasions. The jeans keep it relaxed and easy, but the darker denim still feels polished. With a fluffy coat, you'll retain the cosiness of winter, but the flounced shirt brings a boho edge in an elevated shade. Finish it off with a tonal bag and head out for errands, work meetings or coffee catch-ups.

6. Textural Details
Style Notes: If you want to look like you've hired a stylist to kit you out in a full designer wardrobe this winter, (whilst still shopping it all entirely at H&M), it pays to think about texture when putting together your outfits. Pair tough leather with this fluffy knit, add some high-shine accessories and a super-soft wool coat for a look that echos the catwalks of Prada, Miu Miu and Gucci.

7. Understated Eveningwear
Style Notes: There's plenty of reason to get dressed up in the winter months, and doing so can be easy and refined when simplicity is at the centre. Take an expensive-looking black dress, add a smattering of sparkles to celebrate the occasion and finish with a simple blazer for a modern finish.
