8 Reasons That Gwyneth Paltrow's Skin Looks So Great at 47

While age is nothing but a number, I have to admit that I'm somewhat fascinated with the way in which celebrities like Victoria BeckhamJennifer Lopez and, of course, Gwynnie are only looking more and more incredible in their 40s and 50s. And, as someone who turned 30 this year with skin that doesn't even boast a fraction of these A-listers luminosity, I'm all about taking a leaf out of their skincare books.

Of course, Gwyneth Paltrow has made a career from being the queen of wellness so it's no surprise that the Goop founder has a majorly radiant complexion. But while we've previously caught up with her makeup artist Jamie Greenberg to chat about her application tips for women in their 40s, I wanted to hear from Paltrow directly on the products that she swears by for her incredible skin.

Ahead, keep scrolling for eight reasons that Gwyneth Paltrow's skin looks so damn great at 47. Then, shop her product picks.

#1: She mineralises her water

"I drink so much water and always have, but I'm always dehydrated," Paltrow told Elle. "I've been doing research about mineralising water and adding Himalayan sea salt to it to help with absorption. It doesn't taste amazing, but it really mineralises the water and makes a big difference."

#2: She exfoliates every day

" The [Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial] to me is like a professional facial in a jar," Paltrow told Harper's Bazaar. "On the jar, it says to only use it three times a week but I use it every night."

#3: She swears by vitamin C

"At Goop, we approach skincare—especially glow—from the inside out," Gwyneth explained on her wellness website, Goop. "This antioxidant skin superpowder wakes up my skin—and it tastes so fresh and citrusy."

#4: She loves an oil-based serum

"At nighttime, I always love to use Vintner's Daughter (£175). I love it—my skin tends to be on the drier side," she said of her nighttime skincare routine. "It's not only an oil-based serum. April, the woman who makes it, says it's full of all sorts of fantastic things—it really heals the skin."

#5: She always wears SPF

Chatting through her daily skincare routine with Into the Gloss, Gwyneth explained how she'll layer an SPF over her daytime moisturiser. "ll put on [a moisturiser] plus a sunscreen over that. I like the Coola and Drunk Elephant ones."

#6: She uses travel-friendly skincare

"Juice Beauty makes an algae face mask (£10), and if I'm on a really long flight I'll put it on while I'm watching a movie," Paltrow said of her travel skincare routine. "It's really brilliant, made with organic ingredients and very hydrating. I just sit there looking a little weird on the plane."

#7: She uses a balm to remove makeup

"If I'm wearing makeup, I'll take it off with the Goop Luminous Melting Cleanser (£80), which is a balm," Gwyneth said. "You emulsify it in your hands and really massage it in and then take it off with a hot, wet cloth, and your skin is so clean and glowy afterwards."

#8: She masks after exfoliating

As such a fan of exfoliation, it's important for Gwynnie to comfort her skin afterwards. "We also just started selling the May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon on Goop, and it’s so good to soothe skin after exfoliating," she told Into the Gloss. "So after I scrub off the mask, I make sure to put that on."
