I'm French and Fall Is My Favourite Season for Fashion—Here Are My Picks

We're constantly inspired by Aïda Sané and her French-girl style account @basicstouch. In fact, she recently shared with us some of the specific basics she wears on repeat to create her signature pared-down vibe. Well, given that she has a breadth of sartorial knowledge, we thought we'd tap her to share some of the autumn items she's looking forward to wearing.

On that note, we thought this would be particularly entertaining given that fall just so happens to be Sané's favorite season. On a recent IG post this summer, she stated, "The weather looks like fall at the moment, but I'm not complaining since I'm already waiting for coat season."

"A knitted dress is a versatile item that Iʼm starting to incorporate into my wardrobe more. Perfect with a trench coat and pointy shoes or my favorite sneakers."

"Obviously, jeans are always a staple for me, and I tend to wear a lot of black jeans because they go with everything. They're perfect to put an outfit together."

3. Long-Sleeve Tee

"I love wearing long-sleeve tops just as is or with a jacket or under my jumper when itʼs cold."

4. Smaller Bags

"Iʼm obsessed with smaller bags. I love having them when Iʼm hanging out in the city because itʼs way easier for everything, as I donʼt like wearing heavy bags when I have a lot of walking to do."

5. Comfy Loungewear

"Comfy loungewear has been and will probably be one of my favorite items during fall and winter because I'm spending a lot more time at home this year with the lockdown. Iʼm really into comfy cute loungewear and matching sets."
