8 Easy and Fashionable Outfit Ideas Perfect for Eid
Ava Gilchrist
Although it feels like Ramadan only just started, Eid al-Fitr is approaching fast, so we're already sourcing chic Eid outfit ideas for those who observe.
The holiday—which is celebrated on the evening of March 30, 2025—calls for lots of celebration, and you can expect everyone to show up in some of their best outfits. Muslim women will wear everything from the fanciest looks to cool-girl, dressed-down outfits that are still elevated and put-together. As someone who often turns towards traditional Pakistani clothing to celebrate Eid, I still love to look at the variety of looks women step out in for the joyful occasion, as they often inspire my outfits for months to come.
As Eid comes on the heels of Ramadan, which is a period of reflection and growth, it’s common for Eid fashion to be dictated by a woman’s newfound sense of self. Perhaps that means playing with colour, revisiting a silhouette you love or simply styling your tried-and-true separates in new ways.
For Eid outfit ideas, there's no shortage of chic modest dressers wearing inspirational outfits worth taking notes from. Whether you want to purchase something new or are looking for ideas to rewear pieces already in your wardrobe, the below looks will provide all the encouragement you need to pull together your own chic Eid outfit.
I can’t wait to try out all of these, from the long-sleeved dresses to the colourful prints and matching co-ord sets. I’ve also pulled some sophisticated pieces from my favourite modest fashion brands to help you shop these outfits, too.
Ahead, find the best Eid outfit ideas to end the blessed month in style.
What Is Eid?
Eid is a holy celebration commemorated by adherents of the Islamic faith. It is observed twice a year and involves ending the fast of Ramadan. This is the major holiday for Muslims and is typically recognised with a large feast attended by big community groups.
"For me, Eid is all about gratitude, family and coming together to celebrate, and what I wear reflects that sense of joy and tradition," says Who What Wear UK's junior branded content editor and modest dresser, Humaa Hussain.
What Should You Wear for Eid?
Whilst some things are forbidden to wear to Eid celebrations—especially clothing that is risqué or revealing—a great starting point for your Eid outfit should be something that reflects the reverence of the occasion. "I always go for outfits that feel elegant yet comfortable—flowy silhouettes, rich fabrics and beautiful detailing make the day feel even more special," Hussain adds.
"Modesty is important to me, so I tend to avoid anything too form-fitting or that shows too much skin. When I’m heading to the mosque in the morning, I love wearing a jilbab—a long, loose-fitting outer garment that drapes beautifully and gives effortless elegance. They’re so chic and comfortable that I often stay in them all day. But if I fancy something a little different, I’ll go for a maxi skirt with a nice blouse—something airy and stylish but still modest. It’s all about feeling confident, comfortable and festive at the same time."
