Spring, Is That You? 9 Effortless Outfits I'll Be Wearing on Repeat This Season
Does anyone else feel slightly overwhelmed at the start of each season? It's an exciting time, sartorially speaking, but with so many new trends to get our heads around and new collections flooding our inboxes daily, deciding which looks to introduce to our wardrobes is a relatively daunting process.
So in my mind, it makes sense to start simple. Instead of plucking standout pieces off the rails of my favourite stores, I've decided to rework staples I already own while I figure out which trends are for me. This means keeping my outfits understated and comfortable, and realistically, falling back on some of the formulas I've been sporting for years.
But the last thing I want is to get bored with what I'm wearing, so I've turned to Instagram's best dressers to help me inject some freshness into my daily style. Here are nine fuss-free ensembles I'll be recreating, starting tomorrow.
1. Slim Knit + White Jeans + Ballet Flats
Style Notes: The temptation to saturate your wardrobe with bright hues at the first sign of spring is a strong one—but light neutrals like heather grey and white are unbeatably versatile.

Trends are worth investing in if they look set to stick around. Ballet flats, for example.
2. Denim Jumpsuit + Blazer + Trainers
Style Notes: According to the SS23 catwalks, denim is a key fabrication this season. Given that it's such a wearable material, we couldn't be happier. Make things easy for yourself and opt for an all-in-one denim piece, then add a blazer if you're feeling the chill.

3. Bomber Jacket + Wide-Leg Trousers + Sling Bag
Style Notes: Outfits that feel equal parts classic and current are my kryptonite, so this bomber jacket-and-trouser combo went straight into my saved folder. I love that the cross-body bag brings a pop of citrus, while adding to the relaxed vibe of this look.

This cult buy is hard to get your hands on, so if you see your size, snap it up.
This sell-out bag now comes in a siren red shade. Unsurprisingly, we're obsessed.
4. Halter Top + Denim Midi Skirt + Trainers
Style Notes: If you haven't yet been 'influenced' by the denim midi craze, what's your secret? Because I've found it impossible to resist. It feels like the perfect trend to carry us into spring/summer, especially once we can ditch the knitwear and team it with a sleeveless top.

You could also wear this pretty body with jeans or wide-leg trousers.
5. LBD + Shoulder Bag + Mary Janes
Style Notes: If you like your outfits to be as effortless as possible, slip on an LBD (long black dress), buckle yourself into some neat Mary Janes and sling a woven bag over your shoulder. Voilà.

Whatever time of year it is, this piece will be there to make getting dressed easy.
You might not be able to tell off-the-bat, but this is actually a dark green shade. So chic.
6. Striped Shirt + Straight-Leg Jeans + Slingbacks
Style Notes: Nothing says 'spring' like a crisp cotton shirt. I'll be styling mine just like Lydia; tucked into high-waisted, straight-leg blue jeans. I'm officially retiring my boots to the back of my wardrobe, and moving my slingbacks and loafers pride of place.

RE/DONE jeans fit so beautifully.
7. Waistcoat + Maxi Skirt + Cowboy Boots
Style Notes: Giorgio Armani's AW23 collection was filled with women's waistcoats, but we're not waiting until September to hop onto this trend. I think it looks so cool sans shirting, worn as a tank top with more casual items. Honestly, if an outfit features cowboy boots, it's a winner in my book.

8. Trench Coat + Wide-Leg Jeans + Loafers
Style Notes: On cool spring days, a trench coat will take the edge off without weighing you down. This Parisian staple looks best with wide-leg trousers, in my opinion, plus some simple black loafers you could happily wear all day.

Khaki green makes a nice change from classic camel.
9. Cropped Cardigan + Slip Skirt + Strappy Heels
Style Notes: Of all the blissful activities that come with milder climes, I'm perhaps most excited to dine al fresco in city squares and beachfront boulevards. For such an occasion, the above outfit feels just right.

I own this top and it's fast become one of my most-worn pieces.
Style with wide-leg trousers, midi skirts, dresses, boyfriend jeans—the options are endless.
