Kendall Jenner Just Proved the Scarf-Coat Trend Is Still Very Much a Thing
If there's one thing I can guarantee about winter, it's that you will see a lot of scarf-style coats. From chic camel styles to darker shades with contrast stitching, it’s clear that they’re having a moment. This is in large part due to the ever-growing popularity of the Toteme icon, which continues to sell out as soon as it is restocked but also because this style jacket hits the fashion trifecta. It’s stylish, versatile and keeps you warm. What’s not to love?
Whilst we've fallen for the cosy wool and cashmere iterations, Kendall Jenner has recently got us considering an investment in a rather large leather good, styling the trending scarf jacket in a luxe leather fabric whilst out on a walk in L.A.
Whilst the slouchy, oversized nature of the scarf coat can come across as outfit-dominating, Jenner balancing her heavy jacket with white wide leg trousers and a sharp pointed-toe kitten heel, creating a casual and chic silhouette that I'm desperate to copy at home.
Who What Wear contributor Monikh Dale managed to be one of the lucky few to get the contrast-stitch Totême iteration. Swoon.
We’re not the only ones to note the power of this rising winter trend, with every brand from Whistles to Balenciaga launching their own iterations of the style in their own aesthetics. From cropped jackets with sweeping scarves, to extra long coats with subtle scarf attachments, so many brands have stepped up to offer their perfect take on the trending silhouette.
Savina Chow looks incredibly chic in this longer scarf coat style.

You can always count on Isabel Marant designs to be classic with a cosy edge.
I love, love, love the full-black version of that Tôteme style. An early Christmas present to myself, maybe?
This shorter jacket version is so chic.
I can't decide if I love the cream or navy version best!
This chocolate brown is a new shade for autumn 2023, and I LOVE.
It's giving Rupert Bear vibes (in a fashion way, of course). I'll be wearing this with dark-wash denim and a relaxed knit.
