I've Tried Everything from Estée Lauder, But These Are My 14 Favourite Products

Working in the beauty industry, it's wild how quickly you acclimatise to the frequency of new brands and products being launched each week. In fact, it can be all too easy to get swept up in the excitement of trending products and the buzziest launches and forget that there's a whole back catalogue of tried-and-tested products that deserve a mention too.

So while I'm all working out what the must-buy products are from trending skincare brands like Drunk Elephant and can wholly appreciate the Instagram phenomenon that is Glossier, I thought it was about time that I turned my attention to some of the more classic beauty brands to give you my expert opinion on what's actually worth your dosh. First up: Estée Lauder.

Founded in 1946, Estée Lauder is the brainchild of one of the world's first female entrepreneurs and beauty industry veterans: Josephine Esther Mentzer. A native New Yorker, she took an interest in beauty during high school when her uncle came to live with her family. He would use the household kitchen to formulate skin creams, and it was there that she learnt the basics of product formulation and application techniques.

Using this knowledge, she eventually moved to Manhattan and launched her very own beauty company with her husband, Joseph Lauder. Since then, the brand's legacy has gone from strength to strength, and Lauder's skincare, makeup and fragrance products are now sold in over 150 countries around the world. The iconic Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup (£34) is the #1 foundation in the UK, and 10 bottles of the cult Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (£55) are sold every minute worldwide.
