What Date-Night Outfits Look Like Up and Down the UK

It goes without saying that there is no way of precisely defining "London style" or "Manchester style," as how we dress is never simply dictated by our postcodes. While you'll see checked blazers and slogan T-shirts in every corner of the country, some styling tricks and trends do remain a little more localised. Ahead of Valentine's Day, we asked some of the most stylish women we know from several cities what they consider a "date" outfit. Keep scrolling to see and shop these three outfits. Chances are there's at least one that will work for whatever you do on your next date.

Birmingham-based stylist Huda Sala is all for dressing up for a date, as she says: "My perfect date-night outfit (if it’s for Valentine's Day) would be a mid-length fitted dress from House of Celeb, stilettos and my key piece would be my Gucci Disco bag."

"My date-night outfit never strays to far from a nice top and some trusty denim," says Manchester-based influencer Alice. "I always want to feel comfortable, and a pair of Levi jeans never let me down. I'll tuck in a nice silk blouse and wear some ankle-strap shoes if I really feel like making an effort. As for my hair — there's something sexy about being a little bit undone."

"Our date nights are often planned last minute when my husband comes home and lets me know he's organised a sitter (which I find quite romantic!)," says Alexis Foreman. "So I'll usually dress up a simple outfit of trousers and T-shirt/sweater with some statement earrings and heels. However, I have a beautiful silky black dress that I got in Arket before Christmas that has been a fantastic go-to— mid-calf, long sleeve and really flattering. It works with kitten heels or flats, so I can wear it whatever my mood."
