I consider myself a classics girl—there's nothing I love more than a sleek black oversize blazer, chunky gold jewelry, and a touch of structured accessories. I've been refining my wardrobe for years to create a cohesive classic wardrobe, and it's partly because I have the help of my wonderful colleague, our very own market director, Bobby Schuessler

Bobby is known as the king of sweaters and all things classic here at Who What Wear, but another thing he's reputable for is his keen eye for finding absolute bangers from Nordstrom. "I basically scroll through the new-arrivals section on a daily basis," he told me when I asked how he consistently delivers the best product curation from the retailer. "I also bookmark my favorite brands so I can easily check back, and I filter to the newest pieces or sale items." This is good news for us because this winter, he's looking at all the good ones: tonal dressing, deliciously yummy knits, leather must-haves, you name it. Earlier this month, Bobby hosted a livestream with stylist Kelly Augustine (ICYMI, you can watch here), so I felt inclined to chat with him and, naturally, share every detail with you. You're our official sweater king. What makes this piece so instrumental in your winter wardrobe?

Sweater king! A chunky knit in a soft fabric is a staple in my wardrobe because it embodies the fashion-meets-function mentality. This gorgeous cable-knit silhouette is not only warm, but it’s effortlessly chic with jeans and loafers.

How do you hunt down your favorite pieces on Nordstrom?

I basically scroll through the new-arrivals section on a daily basis. I also bookmark my favorite brands so I can easily check back, and I filter to the newest pieces or sale items!

What suggestions do you have for our audience who's looking to create a winter capsule wardrobe?

When I’m creating my ultimate capsule wardrobe, I think about the types of pieces that I truly wear the most and those that can be mixed and matched to create effortless looks that lean into my personal style. It’s all about ease and versatility. You can’t go wrong with a soft knit, great jeans, a pair of flat boots, a longline coat, and other layering pieces.

What about some of the items you featured in the livestream? What was one key thing you kept in mind when making your selects?

When selecting my favorite winter items, I kept versatility, fabric, and price point in mind. I love nothing more than finding an expensive-looking item that rings in at a more affordable price point. The sweaters from the Nordstrom Made brands—Open Edit and Treasure & Bond—are just delicious.

What's the one trend this winter you're splurging on, and what's one you'll be skipping?

I’m going to lean into strong outerwear—especially leather toppers with shearling accents. A statement coat is an instant outfit maker. I’m into more relaxed silhouettes these days, so I’m going to be skipping super-fitted jackets that don’t work as easily with my chunky knits!

Nayiri is Who What Wear's senior fashion editor for branded content and based in her hometown, Los Angeles. It all began in 2014 when she landed an internship at the company and never looked back. While she does love writing her fair share of fashion stories, her heart really belongs in the brainstorm room, where she has fun strategizing different ways to create content with our fashion partners so that you engage with the brands you know and love. Her style tends to be more classic (she loves a good black-and-white look with gold accessories), and white pumps are kind of her thing. If she had to pick one person's wardrobe to raid, it would be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's, and she also has a major obsession with interior design. She's a mom to a 1-year-old baby girl named Sophie, and she fully plans on training her to spot fashion trends by the time she's 10. That's all!
