One Fashion Expert on Winter's Most Versatile Shoe Trend
Sponsor Content Created With Zappos

Are you as big of a fan of lug-sole boots as I am? This winter, lug-sole boot looks have been some of my favorite of the season, especially the outfits that fashion maverick Sam Hwang has been putting together.
A true maximalist at heart, Hwang is one fashion expert I trust with a capital T when it comes to winter trends. Take one look at her Instagram, and I think you'll agree. Right now, she's really into the SOREL chunky boots she spotted on Zappos, so naturally, I asked her to show me how she's wearing them this season. Below, Hwang is sharing her top three shoe styles (and the outfits to match), and I for one am not disappointed. Keep reading to see what she has to say.
What are some of your favorite trends for winter?
I've been loving sherpa on jackets, shoes, bags, and more. I'm also a huge fan of the color brown (in all shades) for this winter.
Tell me about each look you put together. What inspired you?
Each look is inspired by winter in L.A. It doesn't get that cold here, but these looks still nod to ski fashion by mixing cozy shoes with a basic top and denim skirt. Playing around with different textures in the winter color palette was a strong inspiration for these outfits.
Where are you wearing you Sorel boots this season?
I'm wearing my Sorel boots to the grocery store, thrifting, coffee shops, and more. It's a comfortable, everyday shoe that nods to the ski fashion trends while being a versatile shoe that can be worn in daily life.
How do the shoes seamlessly integrate into your wardrobe?
I wear them with the everyday pieces that I would normally wear with tennis shoes or casual boots. Styling these boots with casual pieces is an interesting take on a winter look.
What do you love the most about shopping on Zappos?
I trust Zappos. It always has fast shipping and great customer service. I love that it carries so many popular brands and always has the most up-to-date styles.
What's one tip you have for readers who are shopping for shoes this season?
Think about staple pieces over trendy pieces. Ditch the heels and go for a shoe that you'll be able to wear to multiple occasions.

It all began in 2014 when she landed an internship at the company and never looked back. While she does love writing her fair share of fashion stories, her heart really belongs in the brainstorm room, where she has fun strategizing different ways to create content with our fashion partners so that you engage with the brands you know and love. If she had to pick one person's wardrobe to raid, it would be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's, and she also has a major obsession with interior design. She's a mom to a girl named Sophie, and she fully plans on training her to spot fashion trends by the time she's 10.
