Tracee Ellis Ross Wore the Jaw-Dropping Gucci Shoes Your Podiatrist Hates
We obsess over Tracee Ellis Ross for her bold, vivacious style. Whether she's wearing voluminous hot pink taffeta by Michael Kors Collection or skintight leopard to host the AMAs, there's really nothing she doesn't pull off extremely well. The same can certainly be said when she tests out the season's most polarizing trends, too. Just yesterday, she stepped out to do some shopping in Los Angeles wearing the "ugly" sneaker trend that's left everyone and their mother divided.
The sneakers in question are Gucci's Flashtrek GG High-Top Sneakers, and aside from earning the description of "jaw-dropping" from us, they also happen to leave podiatrists everywhere in a state of frustration. As I recently shared, podiatrist and Gotham Footcare founder Miguel Cunha weighed in on the sneaker trends he avoids like the plague, and—surprise—Ross's Gucci boot-sneaker hybrids were a definite no from him. Why, exactly? While they're great for trekking along rough terrain on an actual hike, "they are too bulky and heavy for everyday use and may cause muscle fatigue," he noted, "which can lead to posture changes as well as other aches and pains."
Sorry, Ross. We do happen to think your sneaker boots are a cool and trendy footwear choice (so do other celebs like Emily Ratajkowksi), it turns out the sneaker boots are hardly a healthy choice. Of course, who among us hasn't thrown caution to the wind for the sake of fashion? Scroll down to see how the Black-ish actor styled the controversial boots to perfection and then shop a pair (if you so dare).
