The Trending Hair Clip Brand London Girls Are Wearing
Hair accessories are undoubtedly the beauty trend that keeps on giving in 2019. From celebrities embracing headbands to our editors testing out all of the prettiest hair clips, there's no sign of our love affair with with hair add-ons going anywhere. Which is why I was so excited to spot a new hair clip brand creeping its way into my Instagram feed recently: Tort. Worn in the hair of London's coolest influencers and some of my personal beauty icons—Jorja Smith and Laura Jackson to name just two—this independent brand is already making waves on social media. In fact, I reckon that Tort is going to be huge this year.
Founded in London this year, Tort was created by Mona Ghafoori after her friends were struggling to find clips that stayed in place and also looked cool. Even better, they've been painstakingly tested on all hair types. Short, Afro, dyed or fine—they've got all bases covered. "I've always felt inspired to start my own brand when the time was right," explained Ghafoori. "Hair, to me, is so transformative. I think it's so expressive and can be changed day to day to make you feel your best and can really change with your mood."
"Since starting Tort, I hardly go a day without some form of hair accessory in my hair," said Ghafoori. "I'm always looking and thinking of new styles and have regular new drops to create buzz and excitement. It's such an easy way to change up your wardrobe! It's also important for me to have hair accessories that work on all hair types. You shouldn't have to shop elsewhere because of your hair type." Keep scrolling to see all of the ways that London's coolest girls are wearing them, and then shop some of my favourites.
