British people love to talk about the weather—but how can we not when it changes so much within a week? This weekend we might be braced for the return of sunshine, however we've been leaning on umbrellas and hot chocolates this month more than high-factor SPFs, barely-there dresses and lunchtime ice cream runs. As a country that has so much rainfall, wipe-clean, drip-proof fabrics and outerwear that can protect us monsoon-like conditions are a must.
The new-in sections are now flooded (excuse the poor pun) with splash-proof autumn pieces, and out of all the trench coats, there is one that is really capturing the imagination of the fashion crowd. The trench in question is a mushroom-hued glossy vinyl coat by Topshop that has a belt and expensive-looking tortoiseshell buttons. It has only been in store a week, and already it has made several appearances on my Instagram feed.
