While I spend plenty of time studying the runways to report on the biggest trends of the season, I always turn to fashion insiders for their take on where fashion is headed as well. I find it particularly interesting to speak with buyers from the world’s biggest retailers because they are able to share insights about which trends they’re buying into—aka which pieces from the runways will actually be available to shop once the new season hits.

Recently, MyTheresa shared its S/S 22 womenswear trend presentation, with a forecast of the biggest things in fashion this season and how it’ll be curating them for shoppers. While there are many trends to know for the spring season, its edited list highlights which ones will have the most impact on fashion and will end up in the shopping carts of fashion insiders. Ahead, eight top spring fashion trends MyTheresa is betting on in 2022.

According to MyTheresa, denim is one of the strongest trends for the season ahead, with an emphasis on nostalgic 2000s styles and ultra-luxe embellishments. Designer bags—including Chanel's new logo-centric flap bag—only reinforce how denim is being rethought and how huge of an impact it will have this spring.
