This Winter Trend Is Cosy and Luxurious in Equal Measure

The official advent of winter is still weeks away, but if you live in the UK, you really wouldn't have guessed it. Whilst we're only at the beginning of December, we've already become well acquainted with that brisk English breeze and biting cold, and we've quickly adapted to the layering of thermals underneath our trousers, along with opting for thicker knits over lightweight styles almost every day. With chilly weather dominating the forecasts, there's only one kind of clothing item I'm excited to wear: anything of the extra-fuffy, extra-cosy and extra-insulating variety. This season, my heart belongs to all things teddy; a borg and shearling-like faux-fur material that's everywhere right now.

From cosy teddy coats to warm teddy fleeces, the growing trend has been adopted by so many of our favourite retailers this season. Outerwear aficionados like Max Mara have long championed the trend, but now high-street brands such as Mango, ARKET and H&M are all offering up designs in the fuzzy fabric.

The teddy's snug texture will keep you feeling warm and secure through the coldest of winter days, and there's a way for everyone to snuggle up. If you're unsure about styling a longline teddy coat, consider a snug teddy jumper, or if you're hoping to maximise warmth, shop a warm teddy fleece to layer under your winter coat.
