Thank You, Next: The 5 Trends We're Bringing Into 2022

Twenty twenty-one is coming to an end, and with that, I'm starting to look at the trends of this year and which I'm going to take with me into the next. From basics with unique touches to leather separates, there's not a whole lot I'm leaving behind. If you're on the opposite end and are thinking of what trends you're looking to invest in in the new year, our Who What Wear collection at Target has got you covered. Not only is everything at an under-$75 price point, but they also fall under the trend categories I think are worth bringing into the new year. WWW's favorite influencers have even styled the latest pieces, so you'll even have style inspiration to follow ahead.

Keep scrolling for the trends I'm bringing with me into 2022 and picks from our Who What Wear line at Target for you to shop.

Elevated Basics

Basics don't have to be boring—just look at the pieces below. They're your average staples with just a little twist like a cutout or ruffled neck.

Statement Jackets

I know its rough when jackets cover a cute 'fit, but if you have a statement jacket you don't need to be worrying about that when you have a fun outerwear option.

Leather Separates

I've seen people talk about leather separates being a fleeting trend, but I disagree. It's a trend that's going to be around for a while.

Creative Knits

When sweaters have a unique touch to it (like the sleeve detail above), it makes it a lot easier to style. All you need to add is a pair of jeans and you're good to go.

Comfy Sets

Comfy sets aren't just basic sweatshirt and sweatpants anymore. Think unique color ways and stylish silhouettes like the options below.

After interning at Who What Wear in 2019, she found her way to the team after graduating from LIM College in 2022 with a fashion media degree. She's also spent time writing and working for publications such as Fashionista, Coveteur, and Nylon, but she always knew that Who What Wear was where she was meant to be. When she's on the job, she's perusing runway shows, analyzing the latest thing fellow Gen Zers are up to on the internet, and sharing what she can about the modest-fashion market. You can also catch her dabbling in entertainment, talking about the costume choices of the latest Netflix series or diving deeper into how the plotline affects the viewers in a myriad of ways. Lastly, she likes to create content for Who What Wear's TikTok. Her personal time is spent doing similar but also different things—deep diving into almost every new TV show (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and Stranger Things are favorites), planning her next local getaway (whenever that may be), and reading the latest Emily Henry or Sally Rooney novel in one sitting.
