Two Summers On, and We're Still Wearing the Timeless Summer Dress J.Law Loves

With summer's arrival, many of us are turning back to trusted dresses to see us through the warm spell, and one dress style that has proved itself to be both timeless and seriously sophisticated is the tank top dress. Featuring a simple sleeveless vest shape top which flares into a full, floaty skirt, the style featured on the Khaite runway for S/S 22 and has continued to be a firm favourite amongst stylish people, from fashion insiders to celebrities like the ever-elegant Jennifer Lawrence. For summer 2024, the tank dress is back, and even more designers from high-end to high-street have already stocked the eternal style.

Luckily, the high street has cottoned on to how great this effortless dress style is, and this summer, we’re seeing a number of equally expensive-looking styles pop up at some of our go-to brands. H&M, Arket and & Other Stories have the best versions in my opinion, but there are also more premium options at Reformation. Coming in mostly black, white and neutral colours, this dress is a minimalist’s dream and the kind of style even non-dress people can get on board with.
