I'm Leaning Into Swim Accessories This Season—These 6 Are on My List
I don't know about you, but every year, the moment spring rolls around, my mind immediately leaps to summer. Right on cue, I start dreaming of long beach days, warm nights, and cute swim looks I plan on wearing over the next few months. I admittedly already own a ton of swimsuits (I grew up near the beach, so it comes with the territory), so instead of adding more bikinis to the rotation this summer, I plan on spicing up my existing collection with fun swim accessories.
Accessories have the unique ability to transform the vibe of an outfit, and swim is no different. This year swim accessories like hats, cover-ups, and body jewelry are having an especially notable moment so there's no better time to add a few to my wardrobe. With so many options to choose from, I've narrowed it down to six key swim accessories I plan to lean into this summer to take my suits up a notch. Below I'm highlighting the chicest styles I've seen—from crochet bags to raffia hats.
BEADED JEWELRY
Jewelry adorned with beads and pearls were trending last summer, and are about to hit peak popularity this year. Adding a few strands of beaded necklaces is the perfect way to add a fun pop of color and texture to your swim look, and they instantly make you feel like you're jetting off on a tropical vacation.
BODY CHAINS
Body jewelry is making a major comeback right now—adding interest to even a classic black swimsuit. Whether you opt for chic gold or multi-colored beads, adding a body chain suddenly turns your swimsuit into an outfit.
FUN HATS
Not only do hats provide sun protection (not today, sun damage), but they're also an opportunity to add color, texture, and style to your swim look. I personally love all the big printed styles we've been seeing lately and will definitely be adding a few to my rotation this summer.
COVER-UPS
A cover-up is a must for any beach or pool day, so you might as well opt for one with some personality. Bold color, sheer details, or fun prints are a chic way to turn a practical item into one you can get excited about.
SUNNIES
Another essential beach item you can turn to for some extra style points is a good pair of sunglasses. Unique shapes, colorful frames, and metal details will be adorning the faces of fashion girls everywhere this summer—and they provide sun protection while we're at it.
BEACH TOTE
Crochet bags are as synonymous with summer as an 8 p.m. sunset, so it's no surprise all of our favorite brands are offering fun options right now. The classic beach tote is getting a textural twist for 2022, and I'm all for it.
Next up, the swim brands to shop for if you're in the mood for color.
