The Only Outfits You Need for Rainy Summer Days
As ideal as three straight months of blue skies and sunshine would be (we can dream, right?), it’s just not likely. Rainy days are inevitable, even in the heart of summertime, so having an umbrella, a raincoat, and waterproof boots readily on hand—even after those April showers—is certainly a wise choice. That’s not to say, however, that those are the only essentials you need when it comes to perfecting your summer rainy-day outfits. Don’t forget that heat and humidity are still factors during a summertime storm, so dressing in light layers that are cool but weather-protective is a definite must.
Ahead we’ve found some summer rainy-day looks that are anything but drab. Because regardless of dreary gray skies, your outfit can (and quite frankly should) brighten up the day with some color (and it certainly doesn’t have to be boring). And while there aren’t many rules to follow in perfecting a waterproof look, there’s one thing to remember—skip the white when it’s pouring. Now read on to see the only outfits you need for a rainy day. Side note: Many of the ensembles below have one thing in common—a trench coat, of course—but each is styled very differently. So pick your favorite and try it out the next time it downpours.
