These 4 Summer Prints Just Earned Me Gobs of Compliments

In the throes of a sweaty summer, most people fall into two camps: those who are savoring every last sunny day, and people who are anxiously looking ahead to crisp fall weather. If you prefer the former outlook, you'll be pleased to know that we still have five full weeks before September hits and a good three months before cold weather sets in, so you might as well keep stocking up on summer pieces, right?

I, for one, have a closet full of printed clothes—see proof here—so you can bet I'm always on the quest for new additions every summer. This time around, there are four prints, in particular, that have tickled my fancy. Luckily, brands like HVN, Faithfull the Brand, Forever 21, Susan Alexandra, and Bernadette have designed the dreamiest of pieces in my favorite 2019 prints: cherries, bananas, zebra, and floral. And yes, there's a price point to suit everyone's needs, from a $48 skirt to a $500 investment piece that will last forever. Scroll down to see how I wear four standout prints and shop my picks.

Cherries

This HVN dress caught my eye from a distance, but up close it was even cuter once I realized it was printed with adorable rainbow cherries. Susan Alexandra and Beach Riot are among the other brands where you can find cherry prints ripe for the picking.

Bananas

Why not add an entire fruit platter to your closet? In addition to cherries, banana prints are one of the sweetest trends out there. Anna Mason, Farm Rio, and Song of Style are just some of the brands that have jumped on board.

Zebra

Leopard print might get all the attention, but zebra print is just as cool—if not cooler. My midi dress from ASOS is sold out, but Forever 21, Faithfull the Brand, and others have worthy affordable options too.

Florals

This dress is from indie British brand M.92, which you can only order over DM or by email. If you want a more mass-market option, Reformation and Bernadette have incredibly chic options.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
