My Friend Asked for Summer Outfit Ideas That Don't Involve Shorts—Here You Go
One of my dear friends recently texted me asking if I could send her a few spring and summer outfit ideas that didn’t involve shorts. While she’ll wear shorts from time to time (especially if it’s super hot), she’s just not as into them on the regular. Naturally, I wanted to help her with a few looks to consider. I also thought you might be interested as well, so I’m sharing the ensembles below.
The outfits in question are all easy and effortless. Some of the looks feature chic skirt options as alternatives to shorts. There is also an ensemble with pants. The trick there is focusing on silhouettes that are looser in nature and balancing the look with a tank up top (rather than a ton of layers).
With all that in mind, keep scrolling for the outfit ideas I sent over to my friend to consider for the season. There’s also shopping inspo sprinkled throughout.
A skirt is a great alternative to shorts if that's your style. An oversize white shirt is breezy and feels incredibly modern. While you could incorporate a sweater for a layered look, this ensemble works without it as well if it's warm outside.
If you're going for pants, consider a flowy pair in a lightweight fabric with a tank top for a chic spring look.
You can't deny the power of a one-and-done dress in white or a lighter hue for an effortless spring or summer vibe.
Very into the idea of tying a knot in a tee and teaming it with a cute skirt for a fail-safe ensemble.
Here's another A+ outfit with a skirt. The trick with a maxi skirt when it's warmer outside is finding one with a slit. The addition of the bralette or a tank balances out the silhouette.
