Instagram is an endless abyss of trends, from the newest It bag to the boots that every influencer, editor, and celeb will soon be wearing. Because of that, unless you spend hours and hours every day scrolling through the app, it's almost impossible to catch them all. Fortunately, I do lose myself on Instagram for hours at a time—in fact, it's a significant part of my job—and I'm all too willing to share my findings.

Over the last week, I've doubled my screen time to really dive deep into the depths of Instagram and round up the trends with the most potential to go viral. And after discovering the buzzy items ahead, I can say with certainty that my increased roaming charges were wholly worth it. From this season's color to know to the $65 sneakers to buy before they sell out, the nine trends below are among the biggest and most like- and follow-worthy on all of Instagram. Keep scrolling to shop every last one.

Sometimes, the best, most popular trends are also the simplest ones to pull off. Case in point: plain white tank tops. Thanks to Loewe, Marine Serre, Prada, and other high-fashion brands all including the basic in their recent runway collections, it is quickly becoming this summer's fashion MVP. Dress it down with some slouchy, low-rise jeans or up with a knee-length skirt or pair of sleek trousers.

Every few seasons, a sneaker style comes along (or comes back) that soon becomes ubiquitous among the fashion set. For the last couple of years, that has been New Balance's 550s, specifically those designed in collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore. In 2022, it's Adidas's old-school indoor soccer shoes called Sambas. Aided by the launch of a collaboration with Wales Bonner that included the retro style, the simple and timeless sneaker silhouette is back in a huge way. Just look at your Instagram feed for proof.

Baby pink is but one of the many shades of pink that are buzzy right now. But out of all the various hues of the color, baby pink is the one that's making the most headway on our Instagram feeds. (Hot pink is definitely the biggest on the red carpet thanks to Valentino's F/W 22 collection.) From designer pieces by Blumarine and Nensi Dojaka to affordable finds from Zara and Mango, the Barbie-esque color is hard to miss on Instagram—really, it’s rather impossible.

Not too long, not too short—Instagram's favorite skirt length for summer is just right. Knee-length skirts, which have often fallen to the wayside compared to maxi, midi, and mini lengths, are seeing a serious surge in popularity on the app, most notably paired with sleek knee-high boots.

This summer, if you're not posting in a white tank top, you're posting in a Y2K-inspired tube top—period. Styled with '90s maxi and cargo skirts, vintage jeans and khakis, and cutoff shorts, strapless shirts are the effortless and trend-forward warm-weather option that goes with everything. Even better, there's plenty of outfit inspiration to go around on Instagram.

Blame the influx of big-leather-jacket content on your feeds on Miuccia Prada, who dressed Prada's model lineup for the S/S 22 show in satin micro miniskirts, kitten heels, and supersized, vintage-inspired leather jackets of varying shapes and silhouettes. Soon, other designers followed, leading to the whole of Instagram buying themselves at least one version of the outerwear style, whether from the designers themselves, fast-fashion retailers, or secondhand stores.

With frequent wearers in Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Paloma Elsesser, and Emily Ratajkowski, parachute pants are fast becoming the It-girl trend of the year, especially on Instagram, where what feels like literally thousands of stylish wearers are trying out the trend every day.

Like so many trends in 2022, the embellished boots that are currently everywhere on Instagram are of Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia's making. Catalyzed by the Cagole boots worn by influencers like Pernille Teisbæk, Camille Charriere, and more, this trend is all about spicing up your normal pointed-toe boot styles, be it with tassels, zippers, or hardware.
