Trust Us, Everyone Will Be Wearing These 6 Handbag Trends This Summer
While we already talked about the S/S 2022 handbag trends we saw come down the runways, the warmer season has arrived and it's time to take note of what styles have actually translated over to the fashion set. We can talk about our favorite new collection all we want (I'm still thinking about Miu Miu S/S 22), but it still always comes down to the people and what they're actually interested in. After some social-media stalking, we were able to narrow down the popular handbag choices we'll be spotting more of this season. We're proud to say that many of our predictions from fashion month have indeed come true, and it's always a treat to see how the trends are worn IRL.
Ahead, discover the six handbags styles that everyone in the know is carrying for summer from leather satchels to curved bags. We included bags from every budget, so keep scrolling to find the trend you'll be opting for in the season ahead.
1. Woven Details
If you're looking to emulate french girl style this summer, a woven bag is the way to go. It'll fit all your essentials, and add a relaxed
2. '90s Inspired Minimalism
There's no shortage of '90s inspired trends each year, but we have to acknowledge the surge of minimal handbags on the sartorial scene inspired by the era. Think sleek silhouettes, neutral colors and zero logos in sight. It's lowkey luxury at it's finest.
3. Saturated Shades
You've probably seen us write about saturated shades as a top 2022 trend way too many times, but can you blame us? We're just excited about seeing all the fresh colors on the fashion set this year. Even if you're not ready to throw on a full saturated look, a colorful handbag is a great way to add a pop to your look.

4. Curved Lines
We saw brands like Loewe and Bottega Veneta bring curved lines down their runways and the design detail has only increased in popularity since then. We're not surprised, as it makes any handbag a work of art.
5. Carryalls
This trend is for all the practical shoppers out there. Gone are the days filled with teeny tiny handbags, as they've ben replaced with carryalls.
6. Leather Satchels
While a leather satchel was previously seen as something suited for workwear, it is now seen as a chic staple made for everyday wear. Say thanks to Mary-Kate Olsen, who was known for carrying around her beat up Birkin bag, ins[iring people to get more wear out of their pristine satchels.
After interning at Who What Wear in 2019, Yusra Siddiqui found her way to the team after graduating with a fashion media degree. She's also spent time writing and working for publications such as Fashionista, Coveteur, Nylon, and Allure. When she's on the job, she's perusing runway shows, analyzing the latest social media trends, and diving deep into all things Gen Z-related.
