There Are 5 Summer Basics I Think Are Essential
When I think of a wardrobe "essential," it's usually a versatile piece that can be worn with various outfits. These items often fall under the basics category. In terms of summer basics, there are actually five key pieces that I consider essential in a wardrobe due to their high versatility.
Below, you'll find my selection of the best summer basics. You'll notice that all of these items are effortless, easy, and can be styled in numerous ways. While some are more suitable for casual, off-duty looks, there are also basics (looking at you, tank top) that can be dressed up with other polished pieces in your collection. Keep scrolling for more options.
Denim Skirt
The fashion crowd continues to gravitate towards denim skirts this summer. Whether it's a trendy maxi iteration or a mid-length or mini, this staple is about as chic as it gets.
Striped Tank
While any tank style could be considered essential, I'm all about striped tanks this season to create those easy, forward looks.
Relaxed Cotton or Linen Shirt
Whether it's a cool linen style or a cotton silhouette, the oversize button-down is one of those special pieces that can easily be dressed up (like shown here) or down.
Pull-On Shorts
There's something so effortless about a pair of pull-on shorts. You can go for a matching set like shown here or team your go-to pair with your favorite tank.
Boxy Tee
In addition to a tank, an oversize tee is another essential in my opinion. That boxier cut feels so cool and looks elegant with a skirt as showcased here.
