We're Obsessed With These 6 Street Style Colour Trends
If the last few weeks of fashion month have shown us anything, it's that street style has become the stage from which trends are formed, and the fashion zeitgeist is measured. While models walk the runways wearing pieces from big-name designers, often it's the editors and influencers outside the shows drawing the paparazzi's lenses.
With fashion month finished for another season, we’ve been reflecting on the spectacle and analysing the goings-on from the street. And while there are plenty of looks to try, first, we have to tell you about the rainbow of trending colours we noticed cropping up again and again outside of the shows.
This list is undoubtedly the easiest way to assimilate to the upcoming trends, and we can guarantee you have at least one item in your wardrobe that will help you re-create the below outfits. And should you not, we’ve found the best pieces to shop now in each stylish hue. From perennial pink and Kermit the Frog green to classic tones receiving the preferential treatment, it's an eclectic bunch, so you’re sure to find the new-season shade for you in our diverse line-up.
Bring it on, autumn. Scroll down to see our favourite street style colour trends.
1. BUBBLEGUM PINK
Style Notes: Pink has proven itself to be so much more than just a trend. Having defined the style agenda for more than five seasons now, the hue is just as hot as ever, with street style stars wearing it on repeat already this autumn. Pair it with red for a pleasing shade medley, or use it to pep up any printed pieces you’re currently neglecting in your wardrobe.

2. ALL-BLACK EVERYTHING
Style Notes: While we wouldn’t ordinarily proclaim wearing black is "trendy,” it certainly was on the streets during fashion month. Everywhere we looked, showgoers were wearing the shade top-to-toe for chic, minimal effect.
Shop the shade:
3. KERMIT GREEN
Style Notes: If there’s one shade that’s ruled 2021, it’s undoubtedly green. However, instead of the usual shades of sage, mint, and forest, fashion types have been gravitating towards more vibrant iterations of the colour. Case in point: the below looks, which we’re so impressed by.
Shop the shade:
4. FULL CREAM
Style Notes: Creamy colours always look elegant and sophisticated, but never before have we seen so many influencers and editors wearing it as we have in recent weeks. Once again, fashion month was dominated by those wearing it from the top down.
Shop the shade:
5. MODERN LILAC
Style Notes: Though it might have been the colour of your bedroom in your teens, lilac is having a moment right now—this time by way of interesting outfits. The powdery undertone of mauve-type colours means that it works with many other shades, so you’ll get more wear out of your lilac pieces than you might think.
Shop the shade:
6. SHADES OF YELLOW
Style Notes: Autumn might have kicked into gear over the weekend, but fashion lovers are still holding on tight to yellow tones. Though typically associated with summer, the shade loans itself just as well to rust, brown and navy, which the cooler months are usually synonymous with, making it the ideal update should you want to add some colour into your existing wares.
