11 Pictures That Prove Scandis Don't Dress How We Think They Do
When we hear the words Scandi style, most of us would automatically picture a minimal, monochrome uniform. However, Stockholm Fashion Week this week proved that Scandis don't dress like we think they do. The one thing that almost all the street style looks had in common over in Stockholm was, perhaps surprisingly, colour. From Tine Andrea's turquoise earrings to Emili Sindlev's yellow jumper, there wasn't one monochrome ensemble to be seen. Instead, the Stockholm street style scene was all about bold red handbags, colourful earrings and unexpected colour clashes such as lilac with red and mint green with pink. Scroll below to see our 11 favourite looks we spied at Stockholm Fashion Week.
Style Notes: We are so going to copy this styling move—looping a ribbon around the waist of a double-breasted jacket.
Style Notes: Emili Sindlev is the master of the unlikely polka-dot mix, and here she pairs her '80s-tastic pussy-bow blouse with a pair of beaded metallic trousers and Hermès Oran sandals. On paper this doesn't work, but we're actually into it.
Style Notes: And here we have a lesson in unlikely layering. This showgoer wears a silky slip dress over a chunky knit.
Style Notes: When it comes to jeans, we love Emili Sindlev's high-waisted, wide-leg jeans with oversized pockets.
Style Notes: Unexpected colour clashes were all over Stockholm Fashion Week, and we love these two minty greens paired with fuchsia.
Style Notes: We told you Stockholm was all about new colour combos, and we love lilac with bright red.
Style Notes: Jeanette Madsen proves that Scandis aren't just into monochrome, layering a lime-green printed dress over black flares.
Style Notes: The cool Scandi crowd is seriously into "ugly" trainers right now, especially paired with sporty socks.
Style Notes: Ugly trainers and red handbags are Scandi essentials this season.
Style Notes: Red boots, red bag and red earrings—this look ticks off the biggest accessory trend.
Style Notes: Check blazers and raw-hem jeans have become the uniform of 2017, but Emili spices this up with a pair of gem-embellished yellow heels.
