These Jeans Have Just Seen a 140% Search Increase Online
Jeans will always be in our wardrobes—we know this to be true. But the type of jeans we wear? Well, that can change a lot. In the past year or so, the popularity of skinny jeans, which were one of the top denim styles for a long time, has fallen. Call it the Vetements effect, but the trend now is looking towards more distressed, loose-fitting jeans. And now we've had it confirmed by online retailer Lyst, which has seen a massive increase in search for one particular type of denim.
Post–fashion week, Lyst reported that it saw a 140% increase in search for step-hemmed jeans, and actual sales went up by 105%. When you compare that stat with the other trends that saw an increase in sales, the step-hem jeans came out on top. The J.W.Anderson Pierce bag saw a sale increase of 76%, pink items 45%, velvet items 80%, and sales of backless loafers went up by 28%.
It makes sense that this style has been a big seller—not only is it easy to wear and not hard to slot into your wardrobe, but it's also available on the high street. Keep scrolling to see our selection of step-hemmed jeans from the high street and luxury retailers.
