Hailey Bieber Wore the "Boring" Trend That Flooded the Spring Runways

Want to know what's even better than a brand-new trend? It's a wardrobe basic that the fashion world has unanimously crowned a trend with a capital T. Yes, that's right—button-down shirts are becoming the latest of these trendy basics to graduate to must-have status. Don't take it from us, though. Hailey Bieber recently stepped out wearing an oversize version with her jeans and heels, and while she wears a lot of epic denim outfits, this one caught our eye because it reminded us of all the shirting looks we saw on the spring runways.

Classic button-down shirts made an appearance in several key S/S 2020 collections, and the styling alone has us inspired to give it another look. At Celine, button-downs were layered underneath blazers with jeans and boots, while at The Row, they were worn slightly unbuttoned over a turtleneck (a cold-weather styling trick we just adore).

There's no doubt that the runways and this Bieber outfit are indications that this "boring" wardrobe staple is set to be an important one for spring. Keep scrolling to take a look at her simple but brilliant fit and shop our favorite shirts to partake in the trend.
