We often tap a variety of industry insiders for their thoughts on trends worth trying, along with shopping suggestions. One we routinely turn to? Bloomingdale’s RTW fashion director, Arielle Siboni. It’s her actual job to guide the fashion and style direction for one of the biggest department stores out there, so she’s always filled with that top-notch sartorial inspiration. On that note, we thought there could be some interest in uncovering a few of the trends she thinks everyone might be into this year.

The trends in question run the gamut, but there could be something for everybody given that most are easy and quite versatile in nature. We’re talking everything from chic loungewear silhouettes to statement shirting picks. With all that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the 2021 trends Siboni is loving at the moment. You’ll also find visual inspiration from fashion people to showcase the trends, as well as shopping picks sprinkled throughout in case something specific does indeed catch your eye.

1. Joggers

"Joggers are a trend we’ll see a lot of this year and I currently love to live in them. They’re my go-to pants when I need a change from sweats, but want to stay comfortable. The great thing about them is that they come in a variety of materials and textures, making it easy to find a pair that fits your personal style. For example, I am loving the Miramar from Rag & Bone which looks like you are wearing jeans but really are a pair of comfortable joggers. If you feel like being a little bit more formal, leather joggers are always an easy option, such as the Remain Malus Leather Pants, as they’re incredibly stylish and can be paired with your favorite T-shirt for a polished yet relaxed look.”—Siboni

2. Baseball Hat

"An accessory we’ll see a lot of this year is the baseball hat. Adding a baseball hat to any outfit, especially a sweat set, instantly makes it look cooler.”

3. Meaningful Jewelry

"This year, we’ll continue to invest in pieces that make us happy, and meaningful jewelry is one trend that we’ll see in a big way for 2021. This can be a piece that reminds you of someone special or it may represent something that you value in your life. I gave birth to my daughter in April and have been buying pieces of jewelry that remind me of her.”

4. White Button-Down

"I am living in classic button-downs these days and know our Bloomingdale’s customers will be excited to see our assortment this season. It’s a great investment piece that everyone should have in their closet and they work with just about everything—from leggings to bike shorts and jeans. Designers are also having fun by bringing their own interpretation of the classic button-down to the table.”

5. Elevated Leggings

"Elevated leggings are an easy trend to try because they are so versatile and can be molded to your personal style. Depending on your preference, you can throw a hoodie and blazer over them or pair them with a classic button-down for a more polished look. Easy to style and comfortable to wear. The perfect combination!”

6. Chic Flats

"Flats are another trend that can be incorporated into your rotation this year. I would think of them as an alternative to your slides, especially when you’re looking for something to wear around the house that is a bit more polished. They also go perfectly with the aforementioned classic button-down and elevated leggings.”
