Reformation's Selling the Neckline of the Season
Our editors can't resist the thrill of a new-season shop at millennial-focused brand Reformation. Proving to be the next big brand to break through, the growing company's numbers (according to a recent article by Forbes) are seriously impressive. So we're sharing exactly what the team is buying (for real) so you too can be inspired for a wardrobe haul this spring. And it seems the return of the square neckline is a particular favourite amongst our picks. First spotted at Pixie Market and Orseund Iris, the nostalgic shape is equal parts romantic, '90s edgy, and cool French girl.
A small takeaway? You don't need to blow your entire paycheck or replace every item in your wardrobe. Find fresh ways to style existing pieces by throwing a new trend into the mix. Keep scrolling to see what the Who What Wear Australia team are adding to their Reformation carts and how they're styling their choices.
"The next piece I'm desperate to tick off my shopping list is something with a square neckline. I plan on wearing this square neck top with denim shorts on weekends, and a black silk midi skirt for the office."—Amanda Stavropoulos
"I have always loved denim dresses but have never bought one (I'm not much a risk taker when it comes to fashion), but they seem to be popping up everywhere this season, so I think I'll finally indulge myself. I love the light wash of this one as well as the cut (the buttons are ace, too). I'll layer a light sweater underneath for work, or pair it with tan-coloured block heels on the weekend. I think it would even work with slides for the beach. That's it, I've convinced myself—I'm buying it!"—Emily Algar
"The return of bold (borderline obnoxious) colours has me extremely excited for summer and the perfect red floral dress is item number one on my wardrobe update agenda. The flattering silhouette and gorgeous fabric of the Addy has me going to add it to cart on a weekly basis. Plus, you could put a sleeve with even a touch of an interesting detail on anything and I'll fall head-over-heels for it. My recent purchase of a simple string bag for weekend outings will be the perfect accessory."—Candice Morato
"My goal this summer is to dress more like Jane Birkin—not a small feat I know. I love that this Reformation shirt falls as softly as the Chantilly lace–like details. I love pairing soft shirts with blue high-waisted, vintage Levi's, and a velvet slide. It adds a slightly grunge vibe to the ensemble."—Nicole Singh
"I always seem to have the bottoms sorted, but never the tops. This denim corset will be the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe and I'll style it back with gold hoops and wide-leg cream jeans. It'll also work with a white tee underneath—versatile!"—Alison Rice
"I am desperate for new jeans and I love that Reformation have petite sizes for those of us on the shorter side. I'm hoping the seam detail on the front and back will give the illusion of longer legs (I can only dream) and I'm all about a raw hem. I can imagine wearing these to work with black pointed mules and an oversized blouse, or on the weekend with a wrap top and sandals."—Stephanie Squadrito
"I'm really interested in '90s necklines at the moment; for some reason, crew cut baby tees and square necklines are just so appealing to me right now. The black and white spot is about as adventurous as I'll ever get with prints, and it's a perfect match for my summer staple: Blue denim."—Crystal Andrews
