The Spring Outfit That's Both "On-Trend" and "So Me"
Okay so it's "so me" and "so" my best friend, Mimi, but we are basically the same person, so my original title kind of still stands. My biggest fear is when people ask me to describe my personal style. Yes, I write about fashion for a living, but if you ask me to articulate the way I personally dress and suddenly I have no words. I like creating odd combinations of outfits typically including something more tailored or classic, something a little quirky and statement-making, and something trendy. This spring, my day-to-day outfit formula luckily coincides with some of the most popular seasonal items of the moment—printed midi skirts, white shoes, and graphic tees.
For as long as I can remember, my T-shirt drawer has been an overstuffed mess. Finding anything in that drawer without taking out every single article of clothing inside is a miracle. In other words, I have the graphic tee portion of this spring outfit combination down pat. Now, midi skirts might not be your first choice of bottom when you're getting dressed in the morning, especially when you have a drawer full of denim staring right at you, tempting you with its ease and comfortability. This spring, I have two words for you—move on. Swap any pair of denim for a printed midi skirt and you have yourself a look.
Last on the list is trendy white shoes including pumps, sandals, sneakers, and boots. This bright pop adds the finishing touch this pretty funky outfit needs. Since chances are that a graphic tee and a printed midi skirt might seem like a bit much to you, rest assured knowing that the white shoe addition will tie the entire look together, leaving you looking extremely "on-trend" and hopefully "so you".
