The Spring Jackets Currently Sitting in My Shopping Cart
As an editor, a significant portion of my day is spent browsing my favorite shopping sites for the latest collections and getting a sense of which trends will emerge. Spring is one of the most exciting times of the year style-wise, with everyone feeling ready to shed a few layers and freshen up their wardrobe in anticipation of warmer weather. There are honestly so many good spring trends to be excited about, but it's the season's outerwear selection that really has me hitting "add to cart" with little to no hesitation.
If you're also feeling like you could live the rest of your life without seeing another blazer, the following spring jacket trends are sure to freshen up your look. From the trench coats that are making us reconsider the traditional raincoat to the new crop of lightweight puffer coats, you'll want to get a head start on shopping these options before they sell out.
Boxy Cropped Shapes
Though more of a jacket shape than a style itself, the spring jackets with a cropped hem and slightly oversize fit are the ones I'm adding to cart without hesitation. And here's why: When worn with high-waisted pants, the style is weirdly flattering, hitting just at your waist and highlighting your smallest part.
Available in sizes 2 to 12.
Meet the Modern Trench Coat
Unless you live in a consistently rainy place, there's a 90% chance you've never owned a trench coat. That all changes starting this spring with an influx of modern iterations that are set to transform the traditional jacket into a legitimate trend piece.
Denim Reimagined
Good news for those of you who wear your denim jackets like a second skin: The classic piece is going nowhere. Whether deconstructed, embellished, or embroidered, designers are rethinking how you'll wear a denim jacket this season.
Available in sizes S to L.
Puffer Coat 2.0
For spring, the puffer coat just got a slimmed-down redesign. The lightweight topper has all the nuanced sporty vibes of your average puffer coat but is easily thrown on over anything.
If you've seen one too many blazers, these cool spring jackets may just be the fresh answer you've been looking for.
